Actually I was assuming he already knew what the change was since he said 40 year old.
I did. My objective is always to reduce the volume of paper in my wallet and often, these people that handle cash & change every day (I'm thinking of a particular woman I've seen at McD's for six fuggin years) will often five me 5 singles.

In 1984, the cab of a large Ryder moving truck will hold 2 adults, 7 kids (age range from 13 to 3), and 2 small dogs.

Moving back to upper Michigan from Dallas. Dad driving truck, mom driving station wagon. Station wagon breaks down in St Louis. Dad sells station wagon to junk yard, tells everyone "get in". Next 600 miles as sardines. The space between the bench seat and floor can accommodate a few kids and gets extremely hot.
Moved back to Dallas 5 months later....thankfully not by same means.

Interesting place up there in the UP. Spent three years there at K.I.Sawyer AFB in the 80s. We had our daughter at the base hospital; only costed us $12 - thank you tax payers! Went swimming in Lake Superior in August and nearly froze to death in less than 5 minutes. Saw an albino deer. Great fishing up there! Saw the northern lights once. Witnessed thunder and lightening during a snow storm. Saw it snow in August once. And them red onion pasties- YUM!!

Yeah, I'm the same way. I also hate carrying coins, Therefore I have plenty of change in my car and jars of coins at home.

Ziplock baggie in the car door map pocket, when it gets too heavy it goes to the credit union coin counter. I think I hit 40 smackers once. :weights:

One of my uncles, who was from NYC, joined the USAF in the 60s. Told the recruiter he wanted to see the world...got K.I. Sawyer instead.

The U.P. is a great place. Recommend anyone who hasn't made it up that way to do so.....and a pasty is a must have.

My father served ten years in the USAF, and never left the States during his time in the service. Even served during the height of the Vietnam War as well.

Got a call last week from a buddy of mine. He said the company he works for needs a superintendent to go to San Marcus for a couple of months to complete a car wash that the last superintendent screwed up. so, I'll be leaving in a couple of hours heading that way.

I spent 21 years in the Air Force and was never stationed north of Interstate 20. Mostly was overseas, Philippines, Viet Nam, Thailand, Okinawa and Korea.
