Are you really going to say you shouldn’t shoot each other with Nerf guns? That’s the hill you want to die on to win an internet argument?
I'm gonna say I didn't point toy guns at my kids and shoot them. They didn't play with toy guns, I didn't allow it, but they did learn to shoot real guns, I made sure of it.

I'm gonna 150% disagree with you and suggest that a LOT of gun owners would benefit from some small unit airsoft training - yes, shooting airsoft at each other and being honest about hits.

    Or paintball.

    Right….

okay so seeing where you are arguing from I can ignore you. Because in your mind MILES and SIMS are pointless. As is fun clearly. Can’t shoot nerf guns at each other. God you must be the life of the party.

Yeah that is a great idea but you can't seem to understand that I was referring to children.

Another that completely ignores the fact I was talking about children.

IMO the blame goes to the person holding the gun. Baldwin was reckless. I don't care if that gun only ever shot blanks, you never point a gun at anyone you don't intend to shoot. You never have your finger on the trigger unless you intend to fire it.

If Baldwin hit and killed someone with a car, would it be the blame of the person that supplied the car?

Lee Horsely, I believe his name was...
Perhaps not. Just searched him and not sure why that name came to mind...

Jon-Erik Hexum. I was WAY off...

I think it depends on if he knew it was a real gun or if he thought it was legit a prop.
Beyond cars, it's more like if someone was "flying" a flight sim vs a real plane without a license and effective training.

Production crew walked off Alec Baldwin movie set hours before shooting in row over conditions and were replaced 'on the fly' by locals: Workers feared for gun safety after 'TWO misfires' days before Baldwin accidentally shot dead cinematographer

Doesn't matter. Number one rule of firearms, treat it as if it is loaded.

But a gun hater might assume that a prop is "not a firearm" just like a sim is "not a plane."

It will very much boil down to how much he really knew. And if he knew it was "real" - then by all means this is manslaughter at a minimum.

Media keeps using the term “ prop gun” as a way to deflect negligence as if this was unavoidable. The fact is they allowed fully functional firearms on the set and some idiot did not follow basic 12 year old “check to ensure the gun is not loaded” safety procedures before handing the gun to another idiot who did not check it themselves.

Every effort will be made to cover up negligence even though the local Sheriff’s dept is investigating. NM is the poorest state in the union and the Hollywood $ are critical to their welfare heavy economy.

It will be filed next to Hunter Biden’s laptop.
