WTF I think I’d rather go to a baby shower! chef friend was married to a vegetarian!
I remember some years ago, ex-wife #2, decided to go on a diet to lose some weight. No big deal you would think, but her going on a diet meant everyone else ended up eating for dinner the same thing she was having. It wasn't vegetarian, but it was too damn close!

One evening she fixed something, that was very unappealing to me to even eat. I calmly got up from the table, grabbed my truck keys and headed towards the door.

She asked me where I was going. I replied I was headed to Sonic to get some real food. I told her just because she wants to go on diet, didn't mean I was going to!

One of my past good friends (no longer because of politics), was/is a vegan. When she married her husband, a Texan attorney, she "turned" him into a vegan. Her kids were vegan by default; she was the cook, no meals other than vegan meals were allowed in her house.

Their dog was miserable; they fed him like a cat, with a bowl filled with vegan dog food 24/7 and he only ate when starving. Her kids were always amazed to see our dog eat- she eats like a normal dog, attacking and eating her meal in a couple of minutes.

Never had any commies. I don't need the drama.

I miss the Thanksgiving dinners of my youth when, more often than not, we had no idea who would be joining us. Mom and Dad would participate in the programs at military installations in San Antonio to host young men who couldn't get home for whatever reason. Over the years, we had every sort of guy you can imagine showing up and it was always great to hear their stories of how they grew up and why they went into the military.

If you want to save money on Christmas gifts, just talk politics at Thanksgiving.
Holy crap, I can't remember the last time I saw you post! You can be annoying, entertaining & incite, often within 1 post.

    Happy Thanksgiving, curmudgeon.

No commies in my family; and I don't associate with liberals/democrats/socialists or whale huggers. We are going to our son's for dinner. They're grilling steak rather than turkey this year. Conversations at dinner normally are about how the granddaughters are doing and arguing about who get which guns when I die.

Wow- that’s cool. We hosted a couple kids years ago when we were in St. Louis. Refugees from Ft. Lost In The Woods. Wish we could do that this year. Our niece and her kids were going to come down from Dallas but her 17 year old daughter caught the Rona a couple of days ago so they’re out. Looks like a few extra days of smoked turkey sammies for me…

I have a liberal sibling that doesn’t make it to Thanksgiving usually.

We do a 1000 mile each way road trip from Phoenix to Bryan/College Station to spend Thanksgiving with my mom and my sister’s family. No commies here. Not even the youngsters thank goodness.

I saw a BLM sticker on my nephew’s car but upon further inspection it says “Biden Loves Minors”. He’s something of an edge lord.

My middle Bro practices vegan. I say practices because they are not strict vegans... there is an exception for eating Thanksgiving turkey with friends from church; no tofurkey. And once a year gorging at In-N-Out... a double double animal style. He has Parkinson's so it's (veganism) a health thing rather than ideological.

But he's still a commie Bernie Bro... I can't have those discussions with him cuz I get Western real quick. Neither of us gonna change our minds tho.

I ain't no vegetarian, or vegan.
My mom tried convincing me it was a good idea to go vegan when I was going through Cancer treatment; she said she would even do it with me.... I tried it for all of two days and then said this isn't going to work. I literally could just meat for the rest of my life and be happy.

My husband has to eat twice the calories and protein than I do; I just modify everything I eat to give him extra calories and protein. It usually includes cheese, extra meat and anything else I can throw at him.
