I literally could just meat for the rest of my life and be happy.
With the wife when she was going through chemo treatments, pretty much she never really changed her diet. Because she had colon cancer, she had already been going through stomach issues for about two years.My mom tried convincing me it was a good idea to go vegan when I was going through Cancer treatment; she said she would even do it with me.... I tried it for all of two days and then said this isn't going to work. I literally could just meat for the rest of my life and be happy.
True; it was funny when I was single my sister called me and told me she almost gave some random stranger my number.... I asked why she said he had steaks, potatoes and shiner black lager in his cart. She went on to tell me he was a muscular guy with overalls and work boots on. Sadly, I knew exactly who she was talking about; I saw him several times at the grocery store with the same items.And potatoes... gotta have spuds!!
I'm sorry she had cancer; hopefully she is on the other side of it. I went through internal radiation, it sucked. Made everything taste funny and caused all kinds of problems for me. The radiation stayed in my system for a year and I had to carry a card with me basically saying no I didn't a bomb on me...With the wife when she was going through chemo treatments, pretty much she never really changed her diet. Luckily, she didn't have to a really aggressive chemo treatment, so she didn't have a lot of the adverse side-effects that many people go through with the chemo. Which was a good thing. She did lose some weight, but mostly because of the chemo making food taste different or funny to her. She really didn't have a lot of nausea so that was a plus for her. But pretty much, her diet was about the same as before.
@baboon was joking with me a while back, he couldn't understand how I could eat like I do and not weigh a ton. I still have a somewhat active lifestyle, and have been all my life, plus I have a very high metabolism as well. It's always been hard for me to put on weight. I have never once in my life broke 200 lbs. Gotten to the 190's a few times in the past, but never 200 or more.My husband has to eat twice the calories and protein than I do; I just modify everything I eat to give him extra calories and protein. It usually includes cheese, extra meat and anything else I can throw at him.
That's how all the guys in Andrews family are, well except his dad. His dad has a gut now, but his dad sits at a desk all day and eats junk.@baboon was joking with me a while back, he couldn't understand how I could eat like I do and not weigh a ton. Yes, we are on the other side. So far, still cancer free. She will have to do bi-annual checks for several years coming to just keep an eye on things.I'm sorry she had cancer; hopefully she is on the other side of it. I'm glad she's on the other side of things; yes it does suck. I've lost some friends to Cancer, I'm the first on both sides of my family to have had it...Yes, we are on the other side. Cancer sucks Katy. One of those things I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Both the wife and I have lost family and friends to cancer.
Two old sayings sum up my relationship with one rabid family member;You only get one family. And divorcing them is pretty dramatic. One thing to avoid them, but quite another to banish them.
Two old sayings sum up my relationship with one rabid family member;
1. A man's gotta do, what a man's gotta do.
2. Better off without him.
Don't ya know? Dead people vote for Democrats!I hate the way people behave after a death.
Yup, brings out the worst in people...I hate the way people behave after a death.
Got a sister from CA and other sister in Fredericksburg - both more liberal than the Plano and TN parts of family. They won't get their BP up as they won't be with us.Will be with like minded family members. The only commies in the extended family are some nieces that grew up in Europe (dad was in Military) and their boyfriends. The nieces will not be with us this year.
How's AZ. I haven't made it back this year. I miss the rim but find the rest of my native home less and less appealing everytime I go back.Gotta love Thanksgiving in Texas. I’m thankful my family get to spend it in God’s country. H.E.B. brisket is nearly twice as big as the one we get in AZ. Into mom’s smoker it went this afternoon. Not gonna wrap it. Gonna take the full 15-17 hours.
tofurkey?Worse, Eating at Niece's house. She's a vegetarian.
