How do you know it wasn't?You know - its a damn shame that Hunter Biden's laptops weren't full of evidence of the Clinton's criminal acts... just sayin'.

Has that laptop done anything as far as arrests? Do you think it ever will? The Clinton's and Biden's are much like the car and financial businesses, too big to fail. He's still alive...

You do know the USCG was transferred to Homeland Security under Bush, right? Its not under the DoD except during declared war.
USCG does have a very storied history, but I'll stand by my statement it could be consolidated with the Navy. Woke-ness has invaded the USCG as well as the other uniformed services, I hate to say so that isn't an argument to keep them separate. There was rumors a while back of even consolidating the USAF with the US Army again because of the whole base consolidations going on. Lewis-McChord is a prime example of that, given that they're already consolidating command structures of the joint bases.
The Coast Guard has seen action beyond the coasts of the United States. Of the 8000 who served in Vietnam, seven lost their lives and 59 were wounded.
I think we have a better chance of uncovering Hillary's missing emails, than any implications towards countless 'elites'.
Same when I went to college, but the sources cited by wikipedia can be directly quoted and cited as appropriate. The courses I took online from University of Tennessee didn't allow wikipedia to be used as a reference source.
That'll work out as well as the F35 multirole fighter. Going from specialization (USCG, and A10 Warthog) to one size fits all simplification will never be as good.
You failed to read what I wrote accurately, I said we could go back to the Dept of Transportation, which was before the days of the LE tasks of USCG expanded. And no, I'm not a dolt, nor have I been hiding under a rock... I know they are under HS and were transfered to DOD under the time of war.
If anything, put the Navy back under the USCG, because they both came out of the Revenue Cutter Service, which had the basic responsibilities of today's USCG. We were here first!!! Phuck a bunch of slimy squids.
The training and duties the CG has could be handled by whatever the navy calls their advanced individual training or tech school. Could be a special unit equivalent to SEALs requiring selection. Doesn't have to be something just any goofball E1 gets assigned too. Give it a higher ASVAB score requirement with a PT requirement to get into the selection process.
Or do with them as I indicated to the navy - just phase them into being national guard units capable of being called into Federal service when necessary. The biggest point would be to get the FedGov out of as much control and power as possible and have the individual states a lot more powerful.
https://www.military.com/join-armed-forces/coast-guard-mission-values.htmlDuring an average day, the Coast Guard will:
- Conduct 109 search-and-rescue cases
- Save 10 lives and assist 192 people in distress
- Protect $2,791,841 in property
- Launch 396 small boat missions
- Launch 164 aircraft missions, logging 324 hours
- Board 144 vessels
- Seize 169 pounds of marijuana and 306 pounds of cocaine worth $9,589,000
- Intercept 14 illegal migrants
- Board 100 large vessels for port safety checks
- Respond to 20 oil or hazardous chemical spills totaling 2,800 gallons
- Service 135 aids to navigation
#1 I've been TAD to Navy tech schools... they wouldn't even let Coasties take the tests cuz it phucked it up for the Navy guys. Waste of my time.
#2. You don't call Coast Guard units into action... they are ALWAYS necessary. The job Coasties do is ALWAYS needed. You don't shove them aside and wait to use them unless you want a lot of people to die unecessarily, drugs to enter our shores unimpeded, boating/port/ship safety to go away, pollution to be left untreated/unmonitored, Aids to Navigation to go unserviced, etc. This is the worst option you've put forward. In reality, this work would have to go to the U.S. Navy and require repeal of the Posse Comitatus Act, something we really really don't want.
USCG - SEMPER PARATUS, SO THAT OTHERS MAY LIVE.
U.S. NAVY - the only service that does NOT have an official motto.
#3. I don't disagree with the principle of reducing federal power and presence, but the military is one of a very few things that the U.S. Constitution authorizes. Reducing the military is always a bad idea. And specifically, nobody in the USCG wants to be in the Navy. Nobody in the USAF wants to be in the Army. Just like the stupid vax mandate, you would lose all the experience and top quality men and women (USCG only accepts the top candidates and highest marks on the entry test scores.) We'd all retire ASAP.
#4. Did I mention "phuck a bunch of slimy squids"?

Before my time, but barely.
Sounds underutilized to me.
Although there is no official Navy motto as a whole, many branches of the U.S. Navy do have their own mottos. For example, the nuclear submarine navy motto is: "In God We Trust, All Others We Monitor".U.S. NAVY - the only service that does NOT have an official motto.
I never said they shouldn't do the job - the tasks should be delegated to the state's various militias. No need for any standing federal military forces. The founders were generally opposed to a standing federal military of any sort, and for good reason. It hasn't been turned against us *yet* but that day is drawing sooner and sooner.
No reason for navigational aids to go untended, or for rescue missions to not be flown, or for drug or human trafficking interdiction to be stopped. You know how valuable the Air National Guard is in Oregon in flying SAR missions, especially in the mountains. Coast Guard could still do the same over the water if under state authority, like the ANG does over land.

Sadly...
Post Civil War looting of the South by the Military.
Oh...The BONUS MARCH!
Kent State....
And how can we forget...
Randy Weaver
Or the
Waco Massacre.....
Not to mention the resources of the "out of control" spying agencies unleashed on the American Publik by Bush II under the guise of the so called "Patriot Act"?
