Some chimpanzees and capuchin monkeys have been seen flaking rocks to create basic stone tools - a definite step toward more complex thought and capability. Chimps are also known to craft wooden tools - including scraping them to useful shapes and teaching their young how to make and use them. Their brains are developing. Watch out, they'll be riding horses and shooting rifles at us soon.
I saw that movie! And the sequels.

    In the correct circumstances absolutely.

    Long pig anyone?

Back during the Y2K thing, I was checking out at Academy with camping sundries some related to food prep. The cashier asked me if I was preparing for the upcoming turmoil citing the foodish items and was I laying in food as well. I replied “I’m not worried about food, that’s what neighbors are for, it’s all in the sauce.”

She hadn’t recovered as I exited the store.

    I don’t believe so.
I think our essence is part of being created in His image…

A lot of folks point to primates, like captive gorillas, who can seemingly communicate.

But no primate has shown an ability to ask questions.

The ability to recognize that there is more information beyond their own experiences is seen as a big divide between primates and humans.

Asking questions is a big key to human cognitive ability and growth.
