I have never seen 22LR that high across the board. Sure, someone out there is always asking too much. My Walmart as CCI Minimags for $0.08 and Federal AutoMatch 325 packs for even less per round. Academy had CCI 22 shorts and dozens of other rimfire for decent-ish pricing.
Yeah, I just looked at the one place on line. I'm sure it's cheaper in other places. Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore: Plus tax and shipping

Moonpie’s Used tire Emporium and Cow Tipping Service has these at that price.
    How many would you like?

All the common ammo, 9mm 45 ACP, .223/5.56 etc. is pretty much exactly double what it was pre-covid. 300 Blackout too. .22 LR seems to have tripled in price from .6¢ pr to around 20¢.

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but I'm starting to think there is some kind of deep state conspiracy involved here to stem the increased sales of firearms and reduce stockpiling. I wonder if the DOD and the other federal depts are paying 60¢ a round for 5.56.
They probably pay more that that and don't care because it's our money.

Has anyone seen 44mag/44spc at academy lately?

I see 44mag sometimes. It typically seem to be Winchester White Box although I have seen Federal red box a time or two.

44 Special is extremely rare. The only store I’ve seen it at is the store on the Gulf Freeway in Webster. It’s always Hornady Critical Defense in the 20rd box.

    I get 22lr for 6 cents a round

Academy frequently has 22lr for 7 or 8 cents a round

    sorry...corrected
I just picked up box of 525 Winchester .22LR from Academy at $.08/rd. Not near as cheap as they used to be, but a heck of a lot cheaper than 9mm & .45 I’ve been plinking with. I’ll probably focus more on the .22 until ammo prices come down to something more realistic

I did notice that they had either 20 or 25 ct sierra 9mm with a $4.00 off tag, taking it down from $21.99 to $17.99. Still way too much, but I guess they are noticing nobody is buying their expensive ammo anymore. I Think it’s just a matter of time before we start seeing rebates offered again by the ammo companies

I bought 5 cases of Aguila SuperExtra 22 Long Rifle Ammo 40 Grain Standard Velocity Solid Point-Case of 5000 (10 Boxes of 500) - Free Shipping back in June of 2018. Along with 5 cases of CCI standard velocity for about .042 cents a round. My wife asked me why and now she knows. A lot of my shooting now days is .22. Still have two safes full of all the other calibers I have too.

Last three times it spiked it went back to where it was. That was my point. Hopefully primers do too since I don't buy factory ammo unless I get a new chambering.

You are wrong about this. 9mm never went back to $12/50. .22 never went back to $17/ 550.

Other than some generic hunting rounds, nothing made it back to its older price.
