You need a Round motor on there.
I’d rather have this but it’s $100k and burns 18gph.

The last shop I was at we had a QC guy. He could get the readiness codes set with amazing speed. Most of the systems have a set of exacting parameters that need to be filled.Had an airbag recall done to my truck about a month ago. They disconnected the battery as part of procedure.
Went to get inspected yesterday.
2 monitors weren’t ready.
Dude starts accusing me of tampering with my battery to turn-off a CEL, that I can get in trouble blah blah
Tells me to drive a few hundred miles and come back next week so he can see what codes the truck is throwing.
Plugged my scan tool in, sure as shit 2 monitors not ready.
Did a drive cycle last night:
- cold start, AC and rear defroster on for 2.5 mins
- half-throttle acceleration to 55mph, maintain 55 mph for three mins, then coast to 20 mph
- 3/4 throttle to 55mph, maintain 55 for 5 mins, then coast to 20 mph
Verified that all monitors were ready with scan tool.
Brought back to inspection shop, dude didn’t want to inspect it because I only put about 10 miles on the truck, not several hundred.
A bit of back and forth, truck passes, dude won’t even look me in the eye as he hands me my pass paperwork.

With that said, I am glad to be in a safety county now. I hope they do away with the inspection process all together.

And the spokes. Mine look nice from 5' away. But they need polishing.I'm finding it to be cathartic to detail my bike; since I don't own a car of my own and the work van just gets a little dirt in the drivers floor mat I'm somewhat limited in what I can detail and maintain. Regardless, a motorcycle can be a multi-day detail. Wash, paste wax, chrome polish, oil change, lube chain, air up tires, tighten seat bolts again because I'm tired of replacing them at $30 a pair. As James May once said: cleaning your car is like cleaning your mind. Is that bit as clean as it could be? If the answer is no, polish it.
I think the flaw in that is you have to look up close and see all the defects which can be scary... I mean the swirls in the paint and scratches from road debris hitting fenders of course!

I will never own another vehicle with wire spokes. I get what I can but half of the rears are obstructed so badly they're super hard to get to, plus on top of that the brake dust, road grime, and other crud I could sit there with a brass brush for hours and only get 1/4 of the spokes perfect again. And the spokes. The new ones are much better. The metal on the older wheels tarnish easy. The ones on my new T120 still look great.I will never own another vehicle with wire spokes. Same issue on my Jeep. Inspection had two "not ready codes". Driving 10 miles cleared one. Could never find exactly HOW to clear the other but it mentioned from a cold start, drive 5 miles between 30-45mph. Yes, how will I do that with stop signs on residential streets? I tried and never cleared it then read where you can still pass an inspection with 1 not ready code (two on some older models). I passed due to that caveat and I should check to see if the one code cleared since it's been 3 months.Yeah I just googled “GM drive cycle OBDII” and it pulled up the parameters that I posted.
I didn't really expect to see not-ready codes a month after disconnecting the battery, and I’ve driven it quite a bit in that month.
Live and learn LOL
