Most government solutions are worse than the original problem. There's already competition to EV - methane gas and hydrogen, to name two. Problem is (as always), someone got into a position of power in .gov and decided to dictate a 2nd-rate, Not Ready For Prime Time "solution" that's going to come back to bit us in the ass.....kinda like gasohol......
Stop interfering in the market and allow the market to do its thing.A smart gooberment would...
When stopped in traffic and at red lights the EV must use battery power to operate lights, wipers, heat or air conditioning and other demands on its electrical system. Their efficiency numbers don't use realistic driving conditions. The supporters of EV point out these great efficiency numbers, because EV isn't running when you're stopped at a red light. If you look at ONLY the vehicles, the numbers support EV.
I would need the long range option. That is not available on the Pro. To get extended range it starts at just over 80k.My lightning goes into production this week
with price protection and 7500 tax rebate my out the door price for a loaded pro is $38,300
My plan is to get RolCoal for the plates.
and I am getting it for the HP trk and 1 gear trans.
Over $40,000 for the "long range" option isn't much of an option, for the few additional miles of range.I would need the long range option. That is not available on the Pro. To get extended range it starts at just over 80k.

The Punchline: "We realize this comes across as paradoxical," RWE spokesperson Guido Steffen said in a statement. "But that is as matters stand."
All righty then - Guess we're good to go...or NOT!
A pickup is the worst use case for EV. Every time I use my pickup I'm moving shit around; usually over several hours. Moving any kind of payload kills the range, and even at level 3 charging it takes way to long to refuel.Id drive an EV pickup.

The only practical use case for EV is as a city commuter car.
Probably only used over short distances.Strange fleet lightning sales are huge
