Yeah, my go to present was always a Coach purse, and another small gift or two.
Now she has a closet full of purses, but uses a minuscule cross body Coach purse I bought her for a birthday gift, the rest are in boxes, lol.
She needs a way to carry the Coach(s), may I suggest on a Dagger?

Seriously, most of us guys know that our "significant other" chooses her own jewelry and clothes. Don't even go there. They make it impossible to please them as it is, you think you're going to buy her something to wear including jewelry? That may have worked when younger. Just for fun, get her shoe size and buy her a pair of shoes. You know good and well you'd appreciate a pair of new house shoes or slippers, or pair of Crocs, but you can't apply that to most of them.

I did jewelry when we were younger.

I've been told flowers are stupid because they die, so I've done plants, or fruit trees for the yard.

I've bought shoes, and nice jackets/ sweaters.

This year I've been considering buying her a gym membership to the gym I've been going to. It will be great, or I'll be sleeping outside. You never know.

Slowly step away from the gym membership.

    It's a trap.

Seriously. I tell her to buy what she wants. We wrap it and I do the same. She is always happy. Other occasions I buy the shit I find circled in various catalogs she leaves laying around for me to find.

On the rare occasions she complains about not being suprised I take her to the drawers full of clothes or lingerie or jewelry box full of shit she never wears. Thousand in diamond earrings or jewelry she loved that has never touched her skin. Hundreds of dollars in high end intimates still with tags on it.

    There ends he complaints.

Purses, brand name expensive purses are the one caveat. Those always get high marks and used regularly. They also usually get me gun stuff in return so....WIN WIN!

We’ve been married for 50 years and we don’t buy each other anything. About 30 years ago we agreed that we can each buy ourselves whatever crap we want, so why play that guessing game. If she wants an expensive purse, you can bet she’ll buy one. I buy guns, fishing gear and collector knives as I please. We work as a team to concentrate on gifts for the kids, grandkids, and people in need. All the holidays and birthdays keep us busy enough with others. We’re content in agreeing that our greatest gift to each other is just being together. But, to answer your question, I’d consider getting her a nice vertical belt sander.

The nice thing about giving her a gun is there are only about four things she can do with it...

    Be happy with it
    Give it to you
    Throw it at you
    Shoot you with it

You have a 75% chance of coming out of the deal okay or with minimal injury..., and a 50% chance of getting a new gun...

Married 36 years but similar. We no longer surprise the other with something they probably don't want, bad choices of jewelry or impersonal gift cards. Her chosen Christmas gift arrived a week ago and mine arrives tomorrow. Most of our gift money goes towards spoiling grandkids. Years back, I guess many of our gifts were needs versus wants but at this point in our lives, our own gifts are just wants.
