    They are not a wave, or the future. They are the now, the present. The AR platform offers so many affordable options, compared to what we had the "good old days", A person with a scintilla of mechanical understanding, and the ability to read, can build a quality, accurate, reliable firearm. That did not exist in the good old days.

    Sure… if you reload. The world is your playground. Nobody has really reinvented the wheel. BC’s are getting better with the new cartridges. But after seeing my buddy ring steel at 1980yds with a .308, just reassured my thoughts on marketing hype.

    But BCs aren’t driven by cartridges, except on rare occasion with higher velocity. BC comes from bullet design.

    I understand what you are saying. But the 6.5cm, 6.5prc, 7mmprc and 300prc cartridges all utilize high BC bullets. When you tell me you are using a 300prc and not a 300win, that implies that you wanted a better BC. I think we could say that the cartridge is riding on the coattails of the ELD bullets.
