The big deal is it's not a SBR until the Form 1 is approved, therefore I cannot replace the brace with a decent stock (Magpul CTR) until such time as it is approved.

Plus, you weren't forced by a "ruling" to submit a Form 1 as those with pistol braces were...

LA residents should feel good having one like Senator Kennedy. I have watched him take down Ds nominations and Biden officials with great put downs. He knows how to turn a phrase that everyone gets.

No surprise the Senate voted down the House bill to stop the pistol brace rule. From AmmoLand sporting news blog. Even if passed Senate Biden said he would veto it and no way would Congress get 2/3 to vote to override veto.

SCOTUS should shoot down the NFA entirly. It was imposed to allow LE to arrest the bad guys that were often out-gunning the LEOs who mostly only had 38s if any gun. LE is now propely armed, so should the public. Yes you can make bombs and automatics illegal.. See a sawed off 12 ga recently?

They already have. A literal reading of U.S. v Miller does that.

Unfortunately, no one interpreted it that way and Scalia went way off the reservation in the Heller decision to preemptively declare that it shouldn't be read that way.

Scalia literally said the plain language of a SCOTUS decision doesn't necessarily mean what it says.

We've been in bizarro world for a long, long time.

The 'march through the institutions' was a done deal up here at least 40 yrs ago, beginning with so-called 'liberal' policies that go back to the sixties. Now we have two generations whose minds have been molded to comply with whatever our self-anointed 'elite' class deems the cause of the day. It seems both of our nations have been on parallel tracks for at least this long.

Friends, peaceful non-compliance is the only avenue left to those of us up here who remember a freer time. Don't register a thing, if you value the considerable freedom you still have. Resale value may be zero, but I bought all my toys with cash and can consider it water under the bridge.

At any rate, the clowns in charge can't come up with a workable mechanism to actually collect all the 'bad scary guns' so there's a sliver of hope that a new government may ease up on responsible folks and start to address the bleeding-heart system that keeps letting the goofs out.

Checked my eforms, it lists a permit number but still says in process. Does it mean anything that a permit number is listed or did I just miss that before?

Never mind I just missed it before.

No, the permit number was issued when the Form 1 was submitted. It doesn't really mean shit, except maybe proof of submission.

Until it's listed under the 'Approved' section, you're in the same limbo hell as the rest of us (60 days today...).
