I make a point and right out of the chute someone who obviously disagrees replies with a personal attack.

This is how it gets started...if you disagree or think I have misstated the facts, then please show some RESPECT and state your points...

The first sentence in your previous post was factual and accurate. The rest was opinion.
Your opinion differs with the vast majority of my peers, and out of respect for everyone I will not beat the rotten equine corpse.

The first sentence is the point, the rest is my take, or opinion, on the point supported by fact...that is debating.

To have a political discussion, there must be opinions. I am not a political extremist or even a liberal, I am a very well armed, strongly opinionated, moderate who happens to be more aligned with the Democrats at this point. This entire argument about Holder and FF is rightist bullshit. Holder faced Congress at least SIX times and endured insults each time from Republicans who really come off as more interested in creating a political scandal than fact finding. It seems to me that there are some really serious issues that are going to have a profound effect on our future facing our nation right now and this is NOT one of them as far as I am concerned. What it is, is rightist election year propaganda intended to deflect the nations attention from the fact that the GOP has no election strategy except to bash and embarrass the president. I have had enough of this kind of Karl Rove brand of scorched-earth politics.

Seems to me FnF ties into border security (or lack there of on the southern one) which is a very serious matter.

skinman are you saying that both Holder and Obama had no involvement in FnF and therefore ZERO responsibility for any outcomes, good or bad?

No, I am saying that shit happens and this is less about FF and more about political witch hunting during an election year orchestrated by a desperate and out of touch GOP led House...and a total waste of tax money.

Congress has a lot of far more pressing issues than this and I want them to stop with the dog and pony show and do their job. They have sworn to bring down Obama at any cost and they are working that plan. What we should be asking ourselves is how all of this is this helping put people to work, educating our future workforce, addressing the growing deficit crisis, addressing the immigration issue, regulating an out of control health care industry...etc. The GOP criticizes everything this administration does as being the wrong thing to do and yet offer NOTHING by way of a better plan.

Our country burns while the House Republicans try to play gotcha. If they are not careful, they will pay dearly come November.

BTW, I know there are bills floating to re-institute the AWB, but I do not think for one minute that the rank and file Democrats are going to support and pass any more restrictive gun control legislation that will affect private owners...they are still trying to dig themselves out of the political world of shit they created when they passed the AWB back in 1994.

This kind of thinking is EXACTLY why our Country has failed over time. Yea Yeah we all know Dead Cops, Soldiers, Border agents etc doesnt really matter in your world nor needs to be investigated........

Yeah, that's the right attitude to have...just say "shit happens" and don't worry about holding our government officials accountable for their mistakes. That was blatent sarcasm if you were wondering. Apparently its "rightest" for me to believe people shouldn't just get off scott free....I say its RIGHTist

Something over 60% of Americans did not want ObamaCare, yet it was forced on us.
There are more guns per capita in the US than any other country, yet dems are constantly trying to remove them from law abiding citizens. This despite the facts bare out that places with strict gun control (Illinois for example) have higher violent crime rates than places with fewer gun controls.
And remember his PROMISE of transparency and bills posted at least 5 days in advance of signature? Those NEVER happened.

There are greater issues to be resolved but that hardly means FnF should be swept under the rug. I could go on and you can rebut, what's the point? I don't agree with your position on FnF and won't stick my head in the sand over the matter.

It would be very easy to get off topic here but we are not discussing health care reform, gun control, or the things Obama promised and never delivered (there are many!). That is for another discussion topic.

I do not think FF has been swept under the rug. I think that questions were asked and answered, and the House Republicans did not get the answers they wanted, and they need to keep this diversion in the news to keep us from looking too hard at their candidate and lack of platform. For those who do not care about anything except defeating Obama, they are going to latch on anything and everything to bring discredit to his administration, but for the rest of us, we want to make sure that if we vote Obama out we are not voting in someone who is more incompetent. Kinda like Bush and Kerry...rather the devil you know...

This whole FF program was FUBAR from the beginning. It was ill conceived and poorly implemented and carried out, and those directly responsible have paid the price. Holder will not get a free pass on this, his political career is over, and I anticipate he will be asked to resign soon. I also believe that Holder and the administration were not directly involved in the decision making process but I also believe that they share full responsibility, the key word being "share." However, having said that, I know what it is like to give employees responsibility to make decisions without prior approval from upstairs and then experience their decision having disastrous results that I had to make right. But that did not mean I should shut down the company. You deal with those directly responsible and implement controls to try and make sure it doesn't happen again and move on. I believe that is what has happened here. I do not know what the House Republicans want here, but it really looks like they are just trying to keep this issue in the headlines for political gain. I do not agree with that kind of bullshit whether it is coming from either party.

Interesting comment considering the Republican refusal to hold the last president accountable...

And, yeah, I spent a lot of years in the US Navy and anyone who has served knows that decisions are made above your rank, and sometimes shit happens and good people get hurt as a result.

Now, putting your political biases aside, what is justice here? Holder is done. The House Republicans need to move on and get to the business of governing.

Good Lord Skin Man, you seem to be the only one here Politicizing this!! And you continue to gloss over the fact that Holder has stonewalled and LIED the whole time. Yeah Holder flooded the Hearing with 7200 pgs of worthless documents. He even told Issa in their private meeting that there were some Embarrasing documents they'd he rather not release. and Furthermore if he'd just give Issa the actual documents that DO in fact pertain to the investigation they could get on with it. But NO.....No documents Issa specifically requested were NOT, let me repeat WERE NOT turned over and YOU continue to make this a "Republican" witch hunt like nothing has happened and Holder is not hiding anything. I really like the best your "Excuse Reasoning" bringing the Romney candidacy into this debate!!

Ya wanna know if I am a gun enthusiast? And you are questioning this because we do not agree on political issues? How naive! Show up at the Houston shoot next weekend and see...

And, I gave up on posting on the politics because of things like you just posted...personal attacks and not discussing the points.

However, if ya'll want, I will stop participating and you folks can just go on agreeing with each other and never having to really discuss and defend your opinions. Makes no difference to me.

    Peace, out

The point is not about Bush, it is about Republican hypocrisy. Good people die every day due to bad decisions made in good faith...However, speaking about Bush, how do you reconcile the 4,800 brave young American men and women KIA in Iraq because of a bad decision by Bush based on lies from underlings? Who was held accountable for that mess? Do you really want to go there?
