    Please, do tell.

Robert when they first opened I went there because they wer literally 10 minutes up the road from me. A few things bothered me but I figured they would work it out but they havent.

    Cons
    No Rapid fire on range
sales help are mostly kids that dont know a lot
most of the little girls are pretty clueless about firearms as well as even the store policies.
you know when you go to a business and they have clueless kids that dont know their own policies let alone questions you have on proucts or services? Well I dont like that feeling in a gun store.
They dont have enough rage space.
    They space is too small.
Kids stand around talking instead of trying to help customers when they are busy.
Even with memberships you can get kicked off the range for their classes.
they have classes that take up all the range space during hours they are opened.
Their accessories, holsters and such, area is disorganized and kept untidy. Its like they never do a recovery in that area when they close at night.
Because its hard to get great service there I try to call with questions on the phone. Thats just as bad. I once had a young lady ask me what I meant by .45 auto? I complained to the person who said he was the manager.
    limited parking
Thats all I can think of this morning without my first cup of coffee.

    Pros
Convenient location to me, which is disappointing because of the cons.
There is an older guy who works there, he has a slight frame, looks like he my be asian or asian mix, carries a .45. I wish I could remember his name but he is EXCEPTIONAL at customer interaction. Never too busy to answer your question. Very polite and warm person.
There used to be a manager, young guy with glasses who worked there who was also very knowledgeable.
Their prices on firearms are reasonable.

    Thats my .02

Rico, have you been back since they opened up the new building and added lanes?
When do you expect them to hold classes, after they close?
I am there most every weekend, & they treat me great, but that is because I treat them with respect.

I am not sure. I took some friends there who I recently convinced to purchase a firearm and wanted to teach how to shoot about 3 maybe 4 weeks ago. We went on a Saturday when they first opened up to make sure we got lanes. As I said they are really close to me. They turned all 4 of us away due to their CHL class needing the lanes. There was no mention of any other lanes available in another building. We ended up going to Carters Country instead and had a great time. When was it opened up?

It's been open for several months now.
I have never gone early in the morning, so I don't know how they function then.
I am usually there every Friday & Saturday afternoon.
They generally open up the other building if there are too many people waiting for lanes.

Even with my bad experiences there with the service, I have never spoken to anyone one there inappropriately. I mean the kids there dont know any better and I would hate fro someone to be mean to my daughters. I am also not one to just go off and get hot headed in a gun store. Its a business establishment and I respect that. Thats why I was so annoyed that the guys admonished me here on the forum because he does not know me. There are many people on forums who think they can just say whatever they want because of the anonymity of the internet. I have low tolerance for that. The OP asked what people thought of SGA and I said I thought they sucked. Another poster asked why and I told them my experience. If I offended any other posters with my response, I apologize however I wanted to be clear that the respect I show others I expect in return. If you look at my many posts in the politics section you would see, that I debate in the most respectful way I can. Thanks for your question and feedback ZX9. Sincerely. People like you who share ideas and comments in the manner you did are who makes forums enjoyable.

I just had a chat last night with a friend who took his scout troop there to shoot. He'd gone down in person a few days earlier to make sure there would be open lanes. He was told by the head guy on duty that there were no classes schedules that night and it would be no problem. So my friend showed up with the scouts on the appointed night and guess what, they were turned away because all lanes were full due to classes. Not cool.

Something sounds awful fishy about that.
There is a big board at the door that states when classes are held.

Excuse me, but I wonder wh you think you are talking to? You dont know me to speak to me like that and I certainly don't owe you any money, so I suggest you pump your brakes before you skid. You didn't start the thread, how do you know how impactful my contribution was? You show your "ignorance" of personal interaction on the net. Guys like you say things "safely" behind the comfort of you computer in the safety of your home with no accountability or consequences for the statements you make. I am not some child for you to admonish and I don't suffer fools lightly A simple ask for me to expand on my opinion like another gentleman did, would have sufficed.

Who? My comment was directed at you. I don't think there was any question about that.

"..Guys like you say things "safety" behind the comfort of your computer with no accountability.." Really? How about things like, "They suck"? Did you do that behind the "safety" of your computer?

Ignorant? Yeah, "They suck" is ignorant. It's like a junior high kid yelling "booger". It didn't contribute the discussion at all, except as an interruption.

You shouldn't need me or some "gentleman" to tell you to present your comments like an adult.

Lol. you make me kind of laugh. Well here is a comment directed at you. STFU and sit your candy ass down on your computer and keep talking smack. I didn't start with the name calling. you did. i was speaking about a business and my feelings about said business. YOU personally attacked ME. even if you didn't agree with how i phrased my response you could have phrased your request for detail more appropriately. But nooooooo. Your silly ass had to try to make a point at my expense. You had to be Mr. Tough guy I'm gonna show him not to say silly things like they suck. Becuase my candy ass will feel better about myself. What a joke. My annoyance with you dissipated but Once again after everything was all said and done, here you come. What do you guys think about SGA? They suck. It's my opinion not yours and I am entitled to it. You aren't entitled to dictate to anyone what they feel or say. Certainly not to me. And because I KNOW a little person like you wouldn't talk that ish to my face in person this will be my last response to you. All your doing is pissing me off and I know I can't get any satisfaction from going back and forth with you while dragging everyone else into your pettiness. If you have any thing further you REALLY want to say to me, PM me and we can squash this without dragging others not interested in this banter between us. N the meantime ill just work out my annoyance and frustration with you on my next sparring partner. Poor guy. Smh.

My response: True enough. However, this is not about you opinion. This is about having a forum where adults present and share real information and opinions, not just childish slander. You’re capable of doing better

....And because I KNOW a little person like you wouldn't talk that ish to my face in person this will be my last response to you.

My response: Obviously you DON'T know me at all. I will tell you or any other person directly to his face what I think and stand behind it. I don't want to see this forum turn into the mess that I've seen on other forums where people feel free to toss out expletives and crap whenever a serious discussion is taking place. Eventually the moderators have to put in so many rules that nobody can post anything of value. Again, you're capable of doing better and I hope you will in the future.

One last thing: I don't see any particularly good reason to treat you like a baby and carefully - politically correctly - try to steer you in a right direction without hurting your precious feelings. You're an adult; deal with it. This isn't a personal attack on you - hell, I doubt that we've ever even met. This is about keeping the forum "adult".

I know the scoutmaster really well. He wouldn't make it up. When he was turned away he said he spoke to the owner about it. The owner apologized and set them up for two weeks later. I assume that will go off without a hitch. Anyway, the boys weren't too upset since plan B put them at DQ for a blizzard, only the scoutmaster was a little put out about it.

Jimmy. Yes, you always want to deal with him on anything that's important, especially range reservations. I'll make a note about that later on in the thread.

There used to be a manager, young guy with glasses who worked there who was also very knowledgeable.

He was great but he was also very experienced in the industry and was hired as a serious rainmaker. He did OK but not well enough, apparently. One day he was there, the next day he was gone and nobody wanted to talk about it.

Yeah, the owner is a good guy.

I've had some experience with reserving entire ranges at SGA. There are potential pitfalls. Class schedules are heavy. However, if you deal with Jimmy and make sure (watch him do it) that he enters the reservation into the range scheduling book there will most likely be no problems.

    SGA Scheduling This Week

SGA is closed Tuesday and Wednesday for inventory. They have one of their contract classes on Thursday morning and won't open until 1PM that day.

If you sign up for their email list, you generally get such info in your email the day before.

The Saturday CHL class takes up range 1 and 2 (the ones in the main building) for the first hour of each Saturday. It does no good to show up early on Saturday unless you just want to hang out for a while. Basically, you just have to accept that on Saturday, SGA opens their shooting facilities an hour after the store opens.

Range 3 is opened only when 1 and/or 2 is undergoing lead remediation or fully booked. That means that it's usually open on Saturday afternoons and otherwise as needed to relieve wait times on ranges 1 and 2.

SGA has actively sought and landed contracts with LE agencies. Air Marshals, for example, do their qualifying there. That means that at odd times, range 1 or 2 will go offline to the public. It can be frustrating.

SGA could do a better job of explaining their scheduling eccentricities to customers. Communication problems are too common there. Don't get me wrong; I love the place. But it has the potential to be so much better.
