Don't currently own any jeeps but in the past I restored an L Head 1942 Ford GPW, and I've had as daily drivers an F Head 1965 Kaiser CJ6 and a 4.0 L Cherokee. I'm currently looking for a MA, MB, GP, GPW, M38, M38A1, or M151.

I'm actively looking for another XJ project. Anything produced after the 4.0 inline six was killed isn't a Jeep in my book. I'm slowly warming up to the new Wrangler, but that Crapsler V6 worries me.

Well, crap. Someone I know just had an XJ for sale. I'll see if he's still got it if you want.

The 4.0 was an awesome engine. Good torque curve, easy as hell to work on, extremely reliable. I've lost count of how many of them I've seen with over 200,000 on them.

I have a 93 YJ with straight six, 5 speed and hard top. Before that, I had a 2006 TJ with 4 cylinder and 5 speed.

Bonnie and I used to run the "Gauntlet" - 23 miles of washed out road between High Island and Sabine pass then turn around and run it back westbound. We did that a lot in years past but all I use the Jeep for now is to haul small trailers.

06 wrangler unlimited, I've got 3"s of lift and will go just about any place I want. No issues with it but the tranny that got rebuilt under warranty last August.
It might be for sale soon, the wife hates it with a Passion!!!!! So might be selling it and getting a new truck.

I've got an '86 CJ7 that mainly just sees duty at the deer lease and occasional beach trips. Had a '98 ZJ when I lived in Alaska that saw alot more offroad use than the CJ.

I've got an 89 YJ that about the only original thing on it is the tub. New frame (old one was bent) sandblasted and powder coated, Chevy 4.3 and 5 speed through a Frankenstein NP231 transfercase driving a Ford 8.8 in the rear. Custom flat dash, TJ grill (I like round lights) full roll cage all new suspension and steering. And much more... my wife just shakes her head and asks for the keys :)
