Though Texas will be my perminent home, I will miss my stomping grounds in the cascades and Willamette NF. I was born and raised in Oregon but my kind is an endangered species here. Oregonians suffered a viral outbreak from a virus called infringennitus. It isn't recognized by W.H.O or the C.D.C yet. Moving will definitely be a breath of fresh air. Lol.

I look forward to being part of the gun culture in Texas. Pictures of my move will be posted! I want to visit some scenery and get a little camping in on the way.

The closest I've been to that. Worked at a full service station in Temple. It was an extra 30cents per gallon to have me pump the gas, clean the glass, check the tires and oil.

The only people that'd pay for it was elderly ladies. Everybody else would have punched me if I tried touching their ride.

Having lived in Oregon I can comprehend, of course I still pumped my own gas in my bike there. But then again, I'm old enough to remember actual service stations across the country where the attendant used to pump the gas, check the oil and clean your windshield. (by the way, many service stations in Oregon will check the oil and clean your windshield)

Most of em can't tie their own shoe. I listen for a click to my gas cap now because I looked up on the pump once to see my cap sitting there as the kid was finished and shut my door. I'm not a dick to em its just all I'm ok with now is them pumping my gas. Same reason I never went to an oil change place. Not only is changing your own oil easy, some of these kids that work there...besides, working on my own repairs is fun and a good way to pass the time. Well until something fights me and I start throwing a wrench and cussing.......

I wasn't referring to how good of service every gas station in Oregon was, I said 'many', not all, from my experiences there.

Oregon story: I had to fly in and out of Medford and had to overnight there before I flew home. I am in a restaurant and ordered salmon to be cooked medium rare. Oh, we can't do that by law they say. Can't do hamburgers medium either, must be well done by law. So I asked the manage if there were an sushi bars in Oregon? Oh yeah, he says. So I ask why if I can eat raw salmon can't I get my cooked salmon medium rare? Duh, he didn't have a clue and the worst part was that he didn't see the the obvious conflict either. So I went down the street and had sushi instead. Haven't been back to Oregon since. Stupid laws!

Wasabi is used to suppress the microbes and bacteria found in raw fish. That's why you want someone that knows what they are doing making sushi or sashimi.

Weird. I know in Lebanon or Linn county no one would give you a hard time about it. That's weird it was Medford though. I can see Eugene or Portland people being like that. I have no idea. Maybe it is illegal and most people don't care. I dunno though...this one Mexican place in Albany (20 min away) got popped a long time ago for catching nutria from the creek when they were low on beef. They didn't get shut down. Lmao.
