I was about to say that I resemble that there remark.

    Wildcat Diva,

My beloved Darla (when she's in town) often reads "over my shoulder" & said of you, "WD is NO 'mere pussycat"; she seems to be a lioness full-grown."
(That comment on you is PRAISE for you as a strong/independent woman.)

Fwiw, to be as tiny in size as she is (She wears a size 1 or 2 Petite), Darla's pretty/soft blue eyes turn to ICY GRAY in a 1/10th of a second & she morphs into a leopardess defending kittens, if hearth & home is threatened.

Yall should realize rookie cops are well armed and ready to shoot somebody. Keep em hid unless working the night shift at 7-11 over in the democrat side of town.

    bigwheel,

Pardon me for asking, but HOW exactly do you know??

What you said is FOOLISH & UTTERLY ABSURD.

Fyi, I was once LONG, LONG AGO a "rookie" cop with a .38SPL Colt's Police Positive Special in my holster, wearing a "hand me down" uniform & a pair of used hunting boots that I bought at a local GOODWILL store.
In those lo0ng ago days, I wanted only to make enough MONEY for my bride & I to finish college, pay our monthly bills & for me to go home alive/uninjured at the end of my shift.

Before you "run your mouth" even one more time, I suggest that you go MEET & SERIOUSLY TALK TO a few young officers & you will find out just how IGNORANT & FOOLISH that you comment above actually is.

Frankly, I'm laughing AT your OBVIOUS nonsense & truly wonder if you are "having us on".

    yours, satx

Pointless arguing here for no one's benefit. I just strapped on my Springfield 1911 in my newly broken in Galco Combat Master OWB holster, and went out into the great outdoors, open carrying. Ran some errands, went to my Chiropractor, took my wife out to dinner, visited some friends and finished with a walk through the neighborhood green belt. All with no issues or funny looks and I didn't want to kill everyone around me either. As a matter of fact none of the people we interacted with seemed to have any problem at all that I was armed. I was casually appropriately dressed, acted in a calm friendly responsible manner, and didn't do anything to bring any negative attention to myself.

No use trying to argue the point here with those who have already made up their mind or have a vastly differing viewpoint. If you feel like open carrying just do it in a responsible manner. The more people that do this the less frightening and less problematic it becomes. I also carry Law Shield Insurance, so if anyone gets a wild whim to call the police, they can handle it for me.

I did a year in Iraq, and every day I took solace in the fact that I was in such a safe area and not LE on US soil.

(That’s my sarcastic way of saying lots of folks on this forum have been in shitty places and have been “molded”. We just don’t talk about it constantly)

    Seeing more open carry recently........

    Old and young folks...

    V-Tach,

I've seen exactly ONE person, who was NOT an armed security guard or a police officer, carrying openly in San Antonio/Bexar County in over a year now.
(The man was in LOWE'S & appeared to be carrying a long-barreled H&R .22 pistol.)

    yours, tex

That person had, or was preparing to, mow a substantial lawn that may be riddled with rats or snakes! I know this because I also carry a .22 revolver with shotshells or lead bullets when I mow my rocks, I mean grass. :green:

ETA: None of my neighbors or people driving by, have ever raised a complaint.

I have only once. Went to a gun store on Texas Ave. in College Station to pick up a gun I had paid for online. One sales clerk looked at me, I think just to see what I was carrying, never said a word. Sometimes I don't get it covered up in time when I get out of my truck in a parking lot.
