Guys. I'm not looking for steady, repeat customers.
Just some aficionados who want to make a weekend of it once or twice a year.
A dozen of those guys make it viable. The intermediate distances may see some heavier day use.
Well then, count me in as my schedule allows.

    I'll put it this way.
If 5 here are interested, then a hundred across Tx are. I don't have that many weekends in a year.
I'm thinking under a hundred bucks for lodging and exclusive 1000yd privileges.
Might be some locals shooting out to 300 on the same day. Bench separation would be substantial.

    Still interested?

More interested now. Expected higher prices.

Will start getting some 1k capable .308 loads worked up, just in case.

I think that offering intermediate distances will see much more use, but as time goes on and the word gets out, the long range will become a big draw

    That's the hope.
    300 is available locally.
Anything more is quite a trip.

In all honesty, I think people would be interested overall. Not overwhelmingly but, definitely interested.

.308 will go 1k with the right load.

Here's my draw: it sounds like a pretty low pressure environment. I'm not sure I could even qualify to get to 1k, but I like the idea of being able to qualify for it and not have people on either side critiquing my noob groups as I figure it out.

Just sounds like a relaxed setting without the hustle you see at most ranges. I like that.

You thinking paper targets or steel?

I know I got all giddy hitting steel at 600. But I know certain calibers for that distance would be tough on the plates.

Absolutely, but again, my schedule has to cooperate.

Any idea what the targets will be or even how big (steel/ paper)? Will there be other distance targets from the same bench? Or too soon to know?

    Either way, sounds like fun.

The price seems more than reasonable.

    I'm listening.

    Backstory.
Neighbor to the North is a big time 3 gun guy. Wakal will confirm if anyone doubts me.
Neighbor to the South is a Cowboy shooter. They both know, if gunfire comes from my place, come on over.
Well, saturday found all of us there. The conversation evolved and there's more than enough land.
So here I am. Trying to get a feel for the market.

Yup, that's a big one for me.

Go shoot, head to the shack and kick back for a bit.

    Get up and try again.

Head back home in the afternoon.

I keep imagining a steak and baked potato in there somewhere.
