Finally got a set of clear grips off eBay to recreate WWII sweetheart grips on my Springfield GI 1911...

The pic is Carole Landis, an American film and stage actress who worked as a contract-player for Twentieth Century-Fox in the 1940s known as "The Ping Girl" and "The Chest" because of her curvy figure.

Unfortunately, she committed suicide on July 5, 1948 at the age of 29 allegedly as she was crushed when actor Rex Harrison refused to divorce his wife for her.

Except for the grips and the even color, it reminds me of the ones we trained with, taking them apart and puttin' em back together! (10 or 15 seconds!) They had a lot of slop in the slide, etc.

Thanks. I'm trying to decide whether to leave it as is, cerakote to a different color, or blue it. I kinda like 'em blued....

Have you had any fail to eject problems with your ultra carry II

No not one issue at all. It has been a rock solid handgun. Since I bought it brand new I never had failure to feed failure to return to battery or failure to eject. Are you having issues?

Excuse me? Maybe "popular" depends on location and people that you hang around with. I know more people with a 1911 in their carry rotation than without. I personally have 2 of them in mine
