    Just picked up the Remington Rand 1911 from 1945. All proof marks match up along with the mainspring housing.

    Everything is original except the magazine. Previous owner added some stipling (sp?) in the front of the grip.

    I will break it down tonight to confirm the barrel marks.

    Those things generally SHOOT fine, even though the ones that are imported into the USA are usually the "leavings" of the BA & provincial Police.
    (Retirees get to take a pistol home with them & they skim the "cream".)

    Luckily mine has no import marks. I hear ya on being the seconds, though......it is all matching except magazine, which I suppose would be kinda of rare to find one with the original magazine........
