It ends with treating all citizens equally. If you are going to afford a benefit to one group of people, such as Medicare, you need to do it for all regardless of which demographic they come from. Now if you want to get rid of government healthcare for all including veterans, old people, disabled people, government employees, and children then maybe we can have a conversation. Until then, it is an issue of equal protection.
