I went with the Lyman. About 100 bucks...

You can go to harbor freight and they have some generics for about 50 that work well.

Picked up one after Chunky Monkey mentioned it. 40 bucks from Harbor freight, cleans barrels niceley, did all my pistol mags as well, pretty handy little machine. Couple cap fulls of simple green and some warm water is all it takes.

I know a place here in San Antonio to get professional models pretty cheap. About $250 for a refurbished unit.

Should outlast the Chinese stuff from Harbor Freight by several lifetimes.

I either use boiling water and dish soap, or a little bit of TSP.

Be warned: an ultrasonic can "clean" stuff off that you didn't even know was dirt! I lost the anodizing on the rear sight base on my Mark II that way.

3 min auto shut off seems short, am I wrong?

Anyone have an adverse problem dropping a Glock in one of these? A black anodized revolver?

I have cleaned mine twice since I bought one.. ran it through several cycles each time, but had put my gun in other sonic cleaners tons of times before I bought one. cleans AR bolts very well too.

you arent gonna be able to hurt a glock's finish with one.

What about Meprolight night sites? Would it damage those?

I take the glocks apart and put all the pieces in at once. bbl, slide, frame.
