Wow, it looks like it actually pitted the slide. I don' think that should have happened. What type of metal is the slide made of?

Glockster69 that sucks, my condolences on that slide. Good news is I have taken note, and will use your pain as a reminder to avoid some of my own in the future. Guess you can DuraCoat it the same color as the frame and have a custom look.

Compare these pics to post #87. I polished the slide and that removed the majority of the black finish. Why are the few dark spots remaining? More heat during finish application?

I would like a dull, brushed finished. Any suggestions on how to get that?

In the first pic I tried to remove one dark spot completely but that started making it very shiney so I stopped.

Looks like what I did to my bolt carrier group a couple of weekends ago...

It still functions perfectly well in the rilfe, but looks like a hammered turd.
