Anybody interested in doing something like helping out with the current ammo situation. I’m thinking something like if one was to find ammo in stock somewhere like at good prices to get like one for oneself and one that can be traded or sold to someone else. Like example I see some 9mm at a Walmart or whatever and I get 2 boxes 1 for me and the other to help someone who’s having a hard time finding some in time idk something like that cause I haven’t been able to catch any on stock anywhere in weeks, especially not at fair price
There are people not buying their daily limit and hiding it away?

That's why we're in this mess.

What is your definition of a "fair price"? Have you noticed that prices have gone up due to supply versus demand concerns. Less supply due to greater demand usually equals a price increase in a free market economy. Isn't that fair?

Have you tried going to your local Academy Sports every morning, at least 15 minutes before they open, and waiting on the line to get into the store, then going to the ammo shelves (or to the secondary inside line for the ammo shelves) to see if they got any in stock that morning? Can't go in the mornings - then try on your lunch break - they sometimes have even highly sought after ammo left over then. If you had been doing that, you'd have been finding ammo now and again at what have become just about the best prices, if not actually the best prices that I have been able to find on ammo in months. I have checked gun forum offerings, GunBroker.com auctions, live in person auctions, local gun stores, gun shows, online dealers as well as other large chain stores that sell ammo and the prices at Academy Sports sometimes seem almost to be way under-priced compared to those others during the current ammo situation.

If you make the effort to find it and are willing to pay the current market prices - you will wind up with some ammo. Coming here and opening your first thread that included your first post in which you ask others to help you (for whatever reason you think you deserve such a favor from them with you being a rookie here) by trading with you or selling to you is not merely outright wrong, in my opinion, but rather crude and manner-less at least as far as good manners go. I think it a sign of what is fucked up in the world in as much as way too many people want what others have got but do not want to do their FAIR share of the work to get it; although, at least you say you'd trade for it with what you have but then again you said "I haven’t been able to catch any on stock anywhere in weeks, especially not at fair price" so what would you have to trade! Sounds to me maybe like you want something someone else already has or for them to do your work for you in the ammo getting department. Of course you honsetly and with good intent could just be trying to do a good thing by getting people together to help each other out but I think by now you see most folks who replied to you do not think that.

I'll say a little about fair prices relative to folks who sell ammo at gun shows, online on GunBroker or on sites like this. It will only be a little; I'd go on in detail about selling ammo at fair prices, but really do not want have to read replies from ignorant people who evidently do not think things through when criticizing others; yet, want to make all sorts of accusations about price gouging when they don't even know how much was paid (the gross amount) when ammowas purchased or how much was charged when ammo was sold; who seemingly fully support a socialist type arrangement of sharing the wealth (as in sharing the ammo) but only when it suits them.

So, I will just add this: In order to break even, it works out that a person would need to resell ammo at about 13 - 15% higher than what I have been paying for it at Academy Sports, and that is probably a low figure because I only calculated a few of the many cost considerations such a seller faces. Add a small profit to that and now we are talking about 20-25% higher than what was paid for it and if you think about a 10% net profit is not a small one, mind you it is a lot of hours of work at the current time to acquire and then offer ammo for sale at a gun show. Also, I am not the minimum wage type guy but nor am I making a lot cosidering all the work and costs and the small amount of ammo I can acquire to sell. In fact, I wrote up a piece about reselling ammo at gun shows and all the cost considerations of what it cost someone to acquire & resell the ammo. I'll probably not post it here because I do not need the flack from someone who already has made up his mind beforehand that no matter what - to them reselling ammo essentially amounts to greed. To say the least, I enlightened myself - it isn't as profitable as I had first thought and it truly may not be worth the effort to try to make a little to help pay for my firearms hobby just little bit. As for it not being as profitable as I had expected, I learned that lesson swiftly and via the hard way when I lost money at one of the first shows I attended as a vendor and made almost nothing in net profit at another.

Anyway, if you acquire some ammo of a desirable sort, and wind up with a glut of it, why not put a post into the sale threads of TGT and try to trade it then. You will garner a lot more respect from many of the othr members by you doing your fair share of the work to get it and also will generate more interest if you are looking to trade or sell a good quantity of it all at once instead of trying box for box only every now and then and by posting in threads and showing some real interest in what goes on at TGT you may also gain even more respect. Good luck with your attempts to get some ammo that you need. Oh, one other thing, you think ammo prices are bad now - just wait until - Biden actually becomes president (if it actually happens, up in the air now) and the demoncrats maybe win control of the Senate.

Get off your high horse you piece of shit.

Quit acting like you and all your reselling buddies are doing us a favor. The prices are up because you buy it all.

Ever notice how it's almost always the same douche bags standing in line with you? That's because you are all loading up to make a profit at the gun show and do the gun community a "great service".

You are hurting the rest of us by buying all the ammo. If y'all would go back to your commie states and let the normal buyers get it directly from Academy there probably wouldn't be a "shortage".

Thanks for bringing your New York bullshit attitude here and ruining my great state.
But he lost money at a gun show, so he's the victim here. :)

You could go wait in line, and buy ammo if you choose to. You make choices to do other things instead. Big deal, so do I.

How much mark up is too much? Who gets to decide? Do you want a comrade to set prices and "allowable" profits? No one is forced to buy ammo. Find it cheaper or do the work (value addition) to get it.

Now to be fair, I dont know of any New Yorkers at the Alamo, but I sure as hell know a lot of folks there that were not from Texas. Many of the best Texans weren't from Texas... you would do well to remember that.

...and now for the cheesy rationalizations from the scalpers...
To the obnoxious person who said I am buying all the ammo at Academy Sports, let me just say this - I buy what I can within their limit of 3 boxes; which has to be split between 5.56 mm, 7.62x39 mm., 9mm and whatever is the other on or two. For instance today I bought two boxes of 20 rounds of 5.56 M855 and one box of soft point brass cased Winchester 7.62x39 mm ammo. Please e explain to me how that is buying all their ammo? You cannot and thus you are a lying sack of balderdash. You saying so is not only preposterous, it demonstrates you are a totally a clueless guy who makes up absolute BS to defame others just because you do not like New Yorkers who have relocated to TX. Is that what you like in your Texas - prejudice based on only your incorrect concept of another person?

As for me buying what I please, I do so as I please because it is there for anyone to purchase and I am one of those called "anyone". Get it - anyone can do it, that others do not do it, well what can I say but too bad for them. It is not like I am cleaning off the shelves even though you imply - heck you outright said - I am buying it all. That was a bold faced lie bit you have done the same before. Yes, I am saying you just lied and it is apparently typical of you when you disagree with someone else as far as I can see. I am always available to discuss that in person if you so desire. No that is not some sort of weakly veiled challenge to a fight as I have seen Hoji, the self appointed magnificent, do to others. Minet is a real challenge to get together - you and me - and discuss the issues intelligently without name calling and per-disposed ideas about what is right and what is wrong. Are you up for that, if so, let's get together - just you and I - and let's do a video/audio record session between the both of us - where we intelligently discuss these issues and then we post it on this forum for all to see.

Guess what I am confident in my position. Why? Because me buying what I want, with my honestly earned money, while not preventing anyone else from exercising their right to buy the same with their honestly earned money, is essentially the way of the economy of the United States of America including your Texas as opposed to the economies of Red China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, and Venezuela. Apparently, based upon your vehement opposition to me and what I choose to buy and sell - at a price with which you seemingly disagree - you would prefer that Texas become essentially socialist to your satisfaction as to what constitutes a fair and equal distribution of goods and wealth. I totally disagree with that but tha has little to nothing with me being a former New Yorker and all to do with me believing in the free market economy which totally goes again the economy that you seem to uphold and that Karl Marx definitely favored.

In other words, I believe the free market necessarily excludes YOUR Texas. Your arrogance to call it your Texas is absolutely mind boggling but not unique since Hoji calls it the same. You evidently oppose the free market, or is it just you are opposed to folks who were born in NY from participating in the free market because of your own predisposition (aka: prejudiced against anyone from NY (regardless of political or economic standing)? If I had to guess, I would guess you are a Bernie Sanders supporter 100% or maybe even an AOC supporter 150%. Why? Because it is apparent you are so against me participating in the free market but only because I came from NY. The truth is, I am fully am against opposition to the free market, I am against communism, I am against socialism, I am again racism, I am against hypocrisy in politics, and I am against bigots ( a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices ) like you who blatantly preach hatred of others without any real justification. As usual, with a guy like you, you make wordy claims with little to no facts to support them. As a matter of fact, it is not me but you who obviously exhibits what you in essence say is New Yorking Texas. You are the typical ultra NY type liberal, a NY type uber leftist, a NY control freak (all without ever having to live within NY) who wants to stunt the free market and control what everyone else does to suit your liking. You are, at least in my opinion and based upon your terrible previous control freak type posits, a leftist plain and simple, there can be no factual and honest denying it even if you do not realize you are towing the leftist baner.

Since you have spouted off just like an absolute liberal left winger - wanting to control me and what I purchase in the free market - I am going to do something for you that is totally befitting as I see t (mods, cit me off if you disagrees). Let me add, I am also going to do it because you seemingly actually prefer communism and socialism in opposition to the ability to make and or sell via the free market. Thus, in your ignorance of what is the free market, you oppose me or anyone (at least those of us from NY) who are exercising our rights to participate in that very same free market at our discretion. This is not rhetoric on my part, this is actually supported 100% buy what you wrote as I see it.

So, what I am going to do, which probably will piss you off no end, is to post (just for you and yours) more about my purchases and any sales I make. I'll truly enjoy doing that! I am not talking about enjoying buying or selling; although, yes I enjoy the liberty to do so under our free economy but what I enjoy most of all is pissing off absolute hypocrites like you who say they support the American way of doing things then bash people who do it the American way simply because it pisses them off at the moment because at that moment you do not like the particular thing they are doing. You and others like you, a few here on this forum, truly are nothing more than absolute hypocrites who think Texas belongs to their anti-American socialist dogma. It is typical of leftists to do exactly what yo are dong, to curse those who do it the American way and say those folks who do it that way are wrong while you claim to be in the right. You sound exactly lie Schumer, Pelosi, Boxer, Obama, Biden as to make me want to puke. I have watched it all my life, that is self-opinionated scum like you claim that the American way is your way or nothing at all with total disregard for the truth. I ahbe seen it more than ever throughout the presidency of Donald trump - by the way a New Yorker - who has done more absolute good for this cointry than any Texan in memory; yet, guys like you hate all New Yorker's regardless of political or economic affiliation and try to bad mouth us while hiding your own anti-American idealism when t obvious you refer socsoalism. How dare you question or imply that I am in actuality anything but an American Patriot and free market practitioner.

I'm good on ammo, but short on time, anyone selling enough free time to argue on the internet? I can venmo, PayPal, cash face to face or whatever...just looking for free time that seems to be in short supply on my end. Thanks in advance!

Lets see what you are offering and get to the negotiations!

Now are you wanting me to spend my time arguing on your behalf, and at what level of enthusiasm and participation?

    How much are you paying?
