I will remind you of that next time we are attacked on our soil and Obama wants to "negotiate" with them. You will miss George Bush when he is gone and we are being over run. At least he has kept us safe! I am not crazy about half of what he has done but he did keep us safe, and he is Pro 2nd Amendment.
I would guess you are very young.

This man is in my opinion a socialist at best and his backers give me more concern then he, I cannot understand how any common sense individual could vote for this type of leadership, simply a disaster for America.
quotejar said:(Well, the first election campaign I worked on was Eisenhower's second run, but I was still in grade school then.)
How do you believe a socialist type government and we are moving in that direction can be of benefit to our country. When young I voted Democrat in many elections but at that time most Dem's were right of the current Republican party.
Well, I doubt we will be able to move to a socialist type government, whatever that means, but so far those nations that have a more socialist government than the US have done very well.

I am in favor of re-regulation of most areas deregulated since Ronald Reagan, in particular Utilities, Finance and Insurance.
I think as a Nation we need to be discussing many things we have taken as given here like National Health Care, whether as a Nation we want to encourage single family home ownership, creating a Nation Curriculum, whether we need to return and reexamine some of the proposals under the Nixon such as Universal Health Care, a Minimum Annual Income, National Funded Secondary Education, and a very long term tax system designed to pay down the National Debt. I think we need to be looking at the expansion of suburban areas and at mass transit.
The biggest issue is the billions of dollars we wasted with the Iraq War, but we broke Iraq and so we bought it. Unfortunately that folly will limit the resources available to do the things we will need to do.
I'm also a firm believer in the idea that our right to protect ourselves trumps everything else. Without it, we have no means of protecting all of those other more important things.

A large portion of the people that support Obama are the types that go out and burn/destroy/deicmate anything in their neighborhood when their sports team actually wins...imagine what would happen, win or lose, when it is a presidential election at stake.
Yes, we are in a lot of trouble no matter which way the election goes.
I would be very interested in seeing you support for this statement. I support Obama and I have no intention of destroying anything. Also I am an avid gun owner and 60 years old.
I will join the fight to block any attempt to reduce gun ownership - who knows I might even join the NRA if President Obama tries to limit gun ownership.
I think the last thing this country needs is a military man for President. We have too many problems in our own country to be the policeman of the world. I like Obama's focus on responsibility ending the war in Iraq and focusing on solving the problems here in America, health care, infrastructure, the economy, etc. I don't think McCain will overall do as good a job as Obama.
I hate to tell you this, but you're completely backwards. The only thing the the constitution states the government is responsible for is the national defense. You're proposing nationalizing health care, wages, education and transit AND you condemn military action. Completely backwards.
It's not regulations this country needs. It's competition we need. Just like abstinence, it works every time it's tried.
It's also people like who think like you that don't understand the basics of a free market economy. It actually works itself out when government is kept out of it.
