According to the TABC site, if a 51% sign is present the following applies...……..

The second sign, the 51% sign, is to be posted on the premises of establishments where the possession of any concealed weapon is illegal. These are establishments that are licensed to sell alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption whose alcohol sales constitutes more than half of gross receipts. These signs have 51% in large red letters superimposed over the warning and the warning notes that possession of a concealed weapon on the premises is a felony.

I don't see that these people were carrying concealed weapons. Even so, Ar15 is a rifle and it is not illegal to carry a concealed rifle. The bar being open might hold up in court but the arrest of people carrying a rifle, I don't think that will fly. Even if they were carrying concealed handguns with a LTC they were outside the premise. Police over reach....again.

Perhaps a concealed rifle is illegal in a bar??

TABC is famous for making up shit as the go along.
I heard that a requirement for working for them is an IQ under 90 and a penis no bigger than .75”
^This. It's all spelled out in their fileable rules (operating regulations).

I'm 'a' and always have been 'a' staunch/pro LE supporter.

These Odessa guys, I wouldn't piss on if they were on fire and any of the rest in our country who support despotism.

When this crap ends, the L.E.O.'s who did support tyranny will be remembered...
I wonder how many folks will stop to assist LEOs when they are getting the ever loving shit kicked out of them by a suspect they underestimated going forward.......

    Hoji,

Sure as hell won't be me!

    Not any longer....

My memory of this treatment by THEM will 'never' be forgotten.

Overall, I'm very sadly/f-ing disappointed in these folks.

Yeah, but man, we got families to support and I was just about to be promoted ...an ah, ...an ah, ...an ah, oh yeah, "Yours papers Schweinhund"!

    Schnell, Schnell"!!

Absolute bullshit, the sheriff was being willfully ignorant by using the wrong definition of premises. When his department is sued he will just claim it was an honest mistake and try for qualified immunity.

Here is the tyrant at the press conference.

Everyone needs to call the sheriff's office and read to them from the Texas Constitution:

Article 1 (Bill of Rights): Sec. 27. RIGHT OF ASSEMBLY; PETITION FOR REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES. The citizens shall have the right, in a peaceable manner, to assemble together for their common good; and apply to those invested with the powers of government for redress of grievances or other purposes, by petition, address or remonstrance.

And make sure that the message is politely, but clearly stated.

The number is: (432)335-3050 - they may try to send you to voicemail, but if the mailbox is full, as it was for me just now, call them back and ask them to take a message AND give you a response.

Is it just me, or did anyone else expect Wilfred Brimley’s voice to come out of his mouth talking about the diabeetus?
What a piece of shit. Possible “automatic” weapons? I was following orders?
Fucking nazi defense and if as the highest elected LEO in the county the fatfuck doesn’t know the definition of premises as spelled out by our penal code, then he is a diaper mining retard.

    Y'all mad yet?

Ok, so 46.02 - Unlawful Carry of Weapons, seems to apply specifically to handguns, and has the "premises is property" definition.
46.035 has our normal "inside of part of a building", but that applies to license holders, not rifle carry.
TABC code does define premises as property, but I cannot find anywhere in the TABC code that applies to carrying of a rifle.
References in TABC code specifically call out red 51% apply to handguns only.
So where does 51% and rifle carry come into play at all?
