Damn. That's really rough on everyone.

Man, you have no idea. It was a few days after my wedding anniversary, which my wife and I spent down there with Mom in the hospital and Dad just being released that day...and as soon as Dad was home, my (former) sister physically attacked me in their kitchen, then ran to the Sheriff's office and pressed assault charges against me. One of the last things my mother did in her life was inform her youngest daughter she was no longer welcome on my parents' property. I've suspected since that day that it had a negative impact on Mom's condition.

My mom went down fast after my brother died. She slept in a recliner till we moved her to a facility.

Having lost a spouse, and seeing how parents are affected by the loss of a child, I think losing a child must be worse. Including those who have to cut ties with a child. Seen that a few times, and its heartbreaking.
