I guess I missed the "state of emergency" in Texas when last year there were over 3,500 deaths from the flu.
According to a little research I just did, the average number of deaths in Harris County alone in 2015 were 25,342 a year or or just over 69 a day, not even the daily Texas death toll from Covid on average, so why is there such a morgue shortage???

Exactly! The local SA news ran this truck story last night. Cumulative deaths (Bexar Co) are around 187 (over four months!). Needs a lot more explanation. So how are we out of morgue space?
Remember this? Me neither because it wasn’t blown out of porportion. I don’t remember even hearing about it...I guess I missed the "state of emergency" in Texas when last year there were over 3,500 deaths from the flu.
Shoulda gave it it's own thread.Calm down, I'm just posting it.

Sad.My wife's sister lives in Kentucky and she and her husband watch CNN for at least 10 hours a day. She called the wife the other day to ask if she knew that thousands of Texas teenagers were dying from the virus.
Of course, this same couple goes to Harbor Freight and buys 5-6 boxes of disposable gloves every month. They are the epitome of stupid when it comes to anything political or national because they never think for themselves and they believe 100% of what the see on CNN.

TX OMFS,
Do you think it probable that we'll be mandated to wear a mask, stay 6' apart into perpetuity?

Assuming the base rate remains at 69, if we add about 50 a day we're increasing the numbers by 72%. I think the extra deaths on top of the presumably unchanged base rate is the issue (if there is an issue).
My understanding is the hospitals are preparing for the potential need for more morgue space, not that they actually need more space right now. Better to be ready than start stacking bodies while you try to find a truck.
You can joke but that’s exactly what we have knocking on our door right now. But, but, . . . It’s communism.
It’s simply appalling what lies are told on MSDNC, CNN, ABC “news”. I get stuck watching it at work and I just laugh to myself. I show my coworkers (“Medical professionals”) actual studies and they just say it can’t be right that’s not what they say on...My wife's sister lives in Kentucky and she and her husband watch CNN for at least 10 hours a day.
