this thread has reminded me why I don't associate much here - seems this forum is populated by cowardly paranoid folks that never own'd a man card in the first place, never go outta their way to lend a helping hand to those in possible need for fear of the un-known and those it appears who only see the worst in folks based on appearances............
Some of the most rewarding experiences in my life have come from "stopping to lend a hand" or helping strangers in need, whether it be on the side of the road, on a downtown street or at 4:30 am in the morning - but then I have never been afraid to place my life.

While very true, it's a different world today in 2018, but IMHO folks exhibiting the above mentioned conditions ain't making things any better and standing up to the "wrongs" now days takes character and courage, something sorely lacking in current society.
