    Funny thing is he is regarded as a genius and his most popular design is the "gold standard" of pistol design but he himself was designing almost the exact opposite of it when he passed. He could see the truth of the faults of the 1911 but try to say that now and people lose their minds.

    Hard to say what parts of the Hi-Power were his and what parts were Saieve's. But, one could look at the guns he made prior to the 1911 for clues. The grip safety wasn't in Browning's design, being added at the request of the US Army. But the trigger and thumb safety was his preferred design. Saieve was responsible for the HP pivoting trigger and double-stack magazine.
