AFAIK, it's up to Harry Reid whether the bill makes it onto the Senate floor for a vote. And he's none too eager to bring it forward, not to mention the pressure he's getting from his fellow Democrats not to make them vote on it.

looks like the crap states that hate America.
Yes, and amazingly, they are mostly states where gun companies are located: Connecticut, New York, Illinois!!! Personally, I think we'd welcome them to move to Texas. Probably could get some tax abatement deal, plus as long as their plants are west of the Beaumont-Port Arthur-Orange area, they should have no problem with capable non-union labor. Off the top of my head, I see Colt, Kimber, Remington (and the rest of the Freedom Group bunch), Springfield Armory, Hi-Point. I probably missed several.

Nope. They just want more fear mongering. This administration is doing all it can to talk this up so they can get other nasty policies through.

IMO, they will try to wait until there is another tragedy to take advantage of before they vote.

Going off topic for a sec.

I was thinking about what could happen if all of this boils over.

Feds try to make a move, locals step in and things escalate(they will because the first case will set the standard for any future attempts from either side).

Lets say things don't deteriorate to civil war. Lets call it extreme and violent civil unrest(media and gov would never admit civil war anyways). The economy will crash, stability will be in question and the country will start to spiral downwards. If the US takes a big fall the rest of the modern world will follow suit and this is when all the countries who hate us and the other 1st world countries will see their chance to strike. I figure is real will be one of the first hot spots when it becomes obvious the US is in no position to support them. Other countries like North Korea will see a chance to strike, china will by this point cut us off and do to our rediculous amount of debt and overspending it will finish off what is left of our economy and take down several other nations with us.

In the end, I see the outcome being WW3. Sure it is more complicated than my short rant, but run through the events in your head and consider the global effect if the US economy were suddenly removed.

Maybe it's all part of the plan.

    Here is one guys thoughts.

No one seems to remember that almost ALL of Feinstein's proposed legislation was Federal law for 10 years! The restrictions were allowed to expire or "sunset" because there was no proof that they did one damned thing to prevent crime or to protect our people! Regardless, here we go again!

On another note, I see postings elsewhere that fighting these controls is no big deal. Why not just go along with them?

Yahoo has a current article about the rise of Hitler in Germany and how, after he was appointed to power by an ailing leader, he grabbed total control within 30 days and did so by using a tragedy to propel his actions "for national security".

"About a month after being appointed chancellor, Hitler used the torching of the Reichstag parliament building — blamed on a Dutch communist — to strengthen his grip on power. He suspended civil liberties and cracked down on opposition parties, paving the way for the police state."

Let's take an inventory. How long after the election did it take Obama to sign the UN arms control treaty? (Answer.....about 5 seconds).

How long after the election and signing of the UN arms control treaty did Obama begin his crusade against the Second Amendment? (answer....about a month)

There's something to be learned here!

We could learn from this and draw a line in the sand....right now. Obama isn't even hiding his tactics. He commented on the violence in football. That was no accident. I'll bet that he's already working on regulating the NFL.

You guys snicker and grab your tin foil hats when these things come up. Just wait to see what he does.................

Biden recommends a shotgun, because that's the approach the administration is taking

If you don't learn from history, you are doomed to repeat it. Here we go again. In order to divide those on the right, the socialists are hitting multiple conservative issues at one time. Those who want to save gun rights, fix illegal immigration, address the about-to-hit the fan problems of Obamacare, stop out of control spending and the debt ceiling...most of us are concerned about them all, but our resources are limited. People here at Texas Gun Talk are concentrating on saving our gun rights, so we're not focused on immigration or spending. Those more concerned about out of control spending may feel the gun takers are wrong, but they apply their efforts on curbing entitlements. And so on. We need ask our representatives to just lock the NO button on their voting panels until at least August!

Actually, Sean Cody drafted my trust. I highly recommend him to anyone considering a trust (which should be anyone who owns firearms in my opinion). He was very pleasant to deal with.

Thank. I am working on a trust amendment to del with confiscation by death.

And what would you propose we do at this point other than write/call/email our representatives and hit the streets talking to people and trying to change their minds.

Your line in the sand sounds good but what exactly is this line and what are you prepared to do if it is crossed.

Don't get me wrong, I don't plan to turn in or register a damned thing. Just trying to clarify your statement.

this is per a poster over at calguns:

I heard a bit on the radio yesterday that Harry Reid was planning to attach DiFi's bill as an amendment to another bill and try to pass it with 51 votes. My guess is that they will attach it to something really needy that will make republicans look like evil monsters if they don't sponsor it.
