People can bash Bush, and fault him all they want, he was far from perfect. But the one thing I can say about Bush is he never came DIRECTLY after our fundamental rights. Invasion of privacy, yes, but pushing for disarmament is something else entirely. Bush told the UN to take their treaty and shove it. I believe the treaty has already been signed, and it is the next course of action if these gun control measures don't pass. UN troops are already training INSIDE America, for that very purpose.

The latest action of this administration is consistent with what you say: We are giving (they call it a sale, but the buyer doesn't have to pay, so...) to Egypt, 20 more F-16's (the latest version) and 200 M1/A1 Abrams tanks. The only enemy Egypt has in the region is Israel.

They even listed high point carbines as an AR, not even close. UZI was in there too and I am completely positive they have nothing in common with an AR besides a detachable mag.

I've been reading that in recent articles, but the information from Feinstein herself is that transfer is banned.

Boehner and McConnell have been voting liberal lately. Heck, even Paul Ryan voted to raise the debt ceiling. I don't have any warm and fuzzy feeling that the majority Republicans in Congress are going to be voting on the side of the 2nd Amendment.

There is conflicting information on registration and transfers (ie sales). Feinstein's own website has contradictory information.

"First, the bill prohibits the sale, manufacture, transfer and importation of 157 of the most commonly-owned military-style assault weapons."

"Requires background checks on all future transfers of assault weapons covered by the legislation, including sale, trade and gift;"
