I hope it's so off the wall batshit crazy that even the fudds open their eyes when their mini-14s, 10/22s, and expensive Beretta shotguns are slated to be classified the same as machine guns.

Once and for all everyone will know the NRA was right and democrats really do want to ban all your guns. Get the YES votes on the record so we know which sacks of shit to 1994 again.

Hopefully the midterms in 2014 will have the gungrabbing jackass party longing for the 'good ole days' of the mudhole stomping they received in 2010. I'm talking scorched earth, mushroom cloud laying jumbo king sized can of whupass electoral defeats for the 'rats at both state and federal levels.

She was just on the floor introducing the bill but I cannot locate the bill online. Anyone have a link?

New info to me: "The new bill would require a background check for grandfathered weapons if they are sold or transferred."

So basically all of the "banable" weapons in circulation can still be bought and sold?

Sounds like she figured out the original bill didn't stand a snowballs chance in hell and toned it down a bit.

Someone needs to be slapping anti-abortion and Affordable Health Care Act repeals on each one of these that comes up.

Guaranteed that all will fail that way.

Politicians know that voters will retaliate in 2014 and that they have little or nothing to gain by supporting this. This will die.

The AWB is the wet dream they wish they could get passed. I agree with you TwinGlocks, this will not get passed because the politicians know they will get booted. But they will use this to 'negotiate' on the other items on the gun control list. I think the one item they will trade everything else away for, is 'Universal Background Checks'. Don't let then fool you on this.

'Universal Background Checks' don't lead to gun registration, it is gun registration.

    Mark my words.

You know, I hate to sound like a tinfoil hat wearin' MF but let's not BS here. I always heard from so called "gun nuts" that the 2nd Amendment was written to defend against tyranny. Then the anti gunners start calling them crazy gun nuts, conspiracy theorists, and insurrectionists. Then I stopped and thought about it.

We all know the ballistics and capabilities of a 5.56/.223 round. We also know the ballistics of a 12 guage 00 buckshot. Why ban the AR and not the shotgun? Why ban semi automatic weapons when criminals have had them for decades, have probably as many as us law abiding citizens on the black market, and the chance of getting the guns from the thugs is slim to none.

So why are they pushing so hard to do this? It's not going to stop a damn thing. The only thing it would stop, is a citizenry defending itself against a tyrannical government.

Comment (of mine) I copied from another forum:

I'll tell you why, because it (semi auto rifles) is capable of very accurate hits at longer ranges, and it is very versatile so it can quickly be used for long range shooting, and close range combat. Obviously the only people who should be worried about something like this, is a militarized force trying to attack America. Like the UN. They want "weapons of war" taken away, because they know they can't completely dominate us until that happens. Although a Glock would be just as easy to commit a random mass murder with, it wouldn't be as easy to fend off enemy combatants at ranges exceeding 50 yards or so. Shotguns, same thing. That is the only advantage an AR15 has over the aforementioned guns. Versatility, and long range capability. Something good for DEFENSIVE purposes only. But offensively, especially for a madman looking to go on a random shooting spree, a semi auto pistol, even a revolver, or especially a 12 guage, would not slow them down one bit. Hell a buckshot is probably the worst thing a person can possibly be shot with.

The Obama Admin could care less about reducing crime. They want control over the masses.

Exactly. And anyone who denies that at this point, is either seriously delusional, or is part of the progressive socialist agenda. Barack Obama has no clue what Americans want, nor does he care. He is in this to meet the interests of himself, socialist marxists and communist dictators around the world, and I think we can all agree he (like other presidents) is trying to safeguard his interests in the Middle East. Arming thugs in Mexico, and in Lybia, yet trying to disarm America.

People can bash Bush, and fault him all they want, he was far from perfect. But the one thing I can say about Bush is he never came DIRECTLY after our fundamental rights. Invasion of privacy, yes, but pushing for disarmament is something else entirely. Bush told the UN to take their treaty and shove it. I believe the treaty has already been signed, and it is the next course of action if these gun control measures don't pass. UN troops are already training INSIDE America, for that very purpose.

^ I was just thinking about that UN resolution as well. It hasn't been signed, yet. But old Hillary had indicated a willingness to sign it. Bad news even of it isn't ratified by the House and Senate.
