Thanks. I'm glad he wanted the hammer marks left in. After hammering almost an extra inch of width out of the blade it would've been nearly impossible to get it flat and smooth again.
That gives it a really cool look with the hammer marks, I really like it. Makes it a very one-of-a-kind item that couldn't be duplicated.

Anyone who's interested, the shirts (and other things) are in my Etsy store, which is linked in the descriptions on my YouTube videos, which Axxe linked to earlier in the thread. Once I have a forum sponsorship I'll put links in more convenient places.

Found you, just put in Coyote Falls Forge. Cool stuff. Caltrops, I have a good story about those, but I will save it for later.

I thought maybe they changed that, it was back in the 70s. My story ends with the Sheriff saying just put them right here, in the back of my car, and we will let this go.

Yeah, those are kind of a no-go...felony for posession or manufacture in Texas.
It is an affirmative defense to prosecution that the actor's conduct was incidental to dealing with a tire deflation device solely as an antique or curio.

I wouldn't recommend pushing the boundaries, but it doesn't seem like having a caltrop on your mantel would get you in a bind, but I'm hardly a lawyer...

    Honestly, I wouldn't care.

They are classified as weapons, which means they are arms so unless used improperly, they should be allowed to be bought, sold, carried etc by all.

Unless you're dropping them out as you drive, I think "antique or curio" is pretty ambiguous and I'm probably not too motivated to articulate how they weren't a curio...

Nice looking scales - out of my current budget though. I'll keep this in mind for later, once I've sold a few more blades. The colors are cool.
