Kat said Mom's been doing the books and is ready for full retirement..and Kat wouldn't mind a little while out of the kitchen. Kat is keeping the name and recipes and 'who knows' what might happen down the road.
BUT...with their closing in mind, an executive decision was made to visit again NEXT Friday for their famous Southern smoked pork chops(Kat promised them to us). It will be their last Friday

The usual 'beat the crowd' 1100-1115 start time? I 'settled' for fried chicken today...actually cooking carnitas or maybe pork chili tonight.

It's a fairly festive atmosphere...a bit like a going away party this week. Kat has been all smiles and folks who haven't been there in a while are stopping by to wish her well. I think this Friday lunch will be darned crowded(but of course WE start early!). It's also supposed to be the last nice day for a bit. I insist that everyone take the afternoon OFF !!!
