Going to buy a 1911

I think the main problem with what @Kar98 and @MTA89 did was they did not invite me to go shooting with them to test it out.

These guys just get worse and worse all the time.. not them specifically the lot of you.. no pictures no invites... just a shame what the world has turned into

Damn, I'm tempted to buy that Remington Commander Ultralight and I don't even like the outdated inferior 1911s.

Ruger is about the only option. New ones go for $800+/-, at least that's what we sell them for.

I pulled mine out today. [It's been in the truck for over a year]
Ran a few magazines through it. Flawless.
Loaded the magazines and now I can forget about it for another year or so.
Springfield 1911A1GI. Stainless.

I haven't gotten to take out it to shoot yet myself either. But anybody who shows up at the Eagle Gun Range on (I did Fridays for the last few months but probably going back to Saturdays soon) between 5 and 8 can ask me to shoot anything I brought. Farmers Branch loc.

Seems you are leaving out some pretty good ones. In that price range you might just barely be lucky to find a colt. Not likely. Now an american tactical is nice, but its very similar to rock island

I know I do my fair share of talking trash about 1911s but I do want to own atleast one so I am looking for suggestions. Should meet the below criteria

• $700-900 (mid grade)
• No Springfield, Kimber, RIA or Sig Sauer
• Should run out of the box
• 9mm or .45acp
• Not looking for any budget guns
• Light rail and decent sights are a plus

A new in 1976 colt 1911, a new in 1999 S&W 1911, a new in 1990 a Springfield 1911 lite wt., a new in 1999 a Ruger 1911, a used in 1990 LLama 1911, a new 1995 LLama 1911, a new in 1996 Tarus 1911, a new in 2006 Kimber 1911 all in a 45 cal. I also have several of these same ones in 40 cal. I have no problem with any of the 1911. I love them all. I think you will like you will also
