Hey, it was worth a shot, no??? We have plenty of time to hash that out. LOL Question for you guys...Do your neighbors look at you with worry in their eyes as you load up the truck to go shooting?? They sure do up here.

I do my best to load/unload at night simply so others can't see what I have but no one would batt an eye if they did.
Either that or 'he's the nut in the corner with guns'.

    Howdy & Welcome!

You will need at least ten acres to shoot legally on your own property.

I live in a suburb of the largest drunk driving, stab and jab city in Texas.

My neighbors are more interested in watering their shriveling grass and shrubs, they take no notice of what their neighbors do.

Unless you play ZZ Top after 9:00 p.m. Then they want to be you best friends, until you tell them to bring their own beer.

Nobody looks at me funny but they would need some binoculars to see.

I've pulled in to the gas station going to meets with guns cases sticking up above the bed rails and nobody cares.

Course Austin and certain other areas may get you some looks.

My first conversation I held with my neighbor was with a shotgun in hand. She caught me while unloading my blazer and we still had a pleasant conversation and get along to this day. The neighbors across from me in my cul-de-sac have formed a plan with me to secure our immediate neighborhood area in case of a riot or govt breakdown. And there's some down the street who are hunters.

    Welcome to Texas ;D

No need to worry about that. I can truthfully say that I have never voted for a Democrat. If I wanted to vote liberal, I a)would not be on this site ;) b) would not be headed to the hot land to escape this shithole of a state.

Howdy, that means Welcome :), from Houston. It's not the heat that will get you, it's the humidity.

Maybe the last sentence should go in the thread about things people say that piss you off.

I got some good news today. My wife's Aunt knows a guy that has a house in Blanco that he will rent to us for as long as we like, furnished, no deposit. Sounds perfect!!! Just waiting to get rid our house here and it looks like we'll be making the move before the end of the summer or sooner! Not sure I mentioned this, but my employer will allow me to keep my job and work from wherever I move to. Great company. So not having to look for a job will be a great bonus.

A wise move heading to Texas. One of the best decisions I've made in my life was escaping California 12 years ago and hauling my family to Texas. Welcome to civilization and to people that stand up for the Second Amendment.

You should have no problems loading/unloading your guns in front of neighbors here. We recently had a block party, and after quietly telling one of my neighbors he was more than printing, we started a conversation about guns. Now we have 7 out of 8 houses immediately around mine who all go out to the range together and shoot.

Good news already!!! Did some talking with the owners of my company and they have given me the blessing to work from TX and keep my job and my pay from CT. This is HUGE!!! House going on the market tomorrow and the gears are turning. Looks like we could definitely hit our goal date of being down there in July. We are sooo excited that this is working out so far. Good thoughts y'all!!!
