A lot of safes have electrical outlets inside. Just plug the cord into an outlet and there's a minimal power strip in there. I have a golden rod. I do need to find a light kit though. And I DON'T want any of those "wireless" kits. Since I have power in there, I don't want to have to be replacing batteries.

There is not a better product on the market than this: Gun Safe LED Light System

I am on my 3rd. One in the safe (running on AC), one in a closet that had no power (8 AA batteries), and one in the kitchen, mounted under the cabinets. They're about 1000X better than hanging a fluorescent light.

EDIT: If you get one, pay the extra $12 or whatever for the motion detecting switch.

I have a Brown Mfg safe that has the fire package. It is a double door safe and it was made in California shipped to Conthrons locks smith in Austin. They didn't have a truck that could handle it so they had a flatbed tow truck deliver it. Here is a picture.

Thanks. Pulled the pin on a setup for mine.

Though there's not much to see after that boating accident.........:shades:

Installed the kit. I did get the standard door switch. My only gripe is with the switch. It's cheesy and I had to kluge something together to mount it. I may try to find a better (more easily mounted) switch or maybe get the motion sensor. But it REALLY lights up the inside of that cave.

Holy safe envy Batman!!! That's badass. I looked at Browns early on. Very tempting, very expensive. I'll have to check them out again. Sigh.

Looks like a bad ass safe.

Maybe you and I can chip in... Looks like a Model 7256 to me:

    HD-Series 7256 Specifications:

    • Cubic Capacity: 61 Cubic Feet
    • Interior Dimensions: 72" H x 56" W x 25.5" D
    • Min. Exterior Dimensions: 73" H x 57" W x 31" D
    • Min. Weight: 2074 lbs.
    • Priced From $5,449 - $20,353

ETA: Some of these safes are pretty damn cool, but they make my wallet hurt.

Quality product though. These are B class and higher safes, not RSCs (as discussed earlier). Did any of you guys see the custom watch safes they have? I'm glad I don't collect expensive watches because that would be bad ass to have.

Your wallet hurts from all the cash you have stuffed in it...
How much would it cost us to lease an old bank building and rent out vault space to the local guys we shoot with regularly????

I apologize for not saying something. Forget the silly door switch. The motion sensor is a thousand times more convenient.

That seems like a good idea on the outside, but would be a hassle when wanting to go shooting.
Unless of course one only puts their "good" guns in storage, & keeps the shooters at home, but then you still need a safe for those.
