I agree, that's why I would never go "investigate" a noise without grabbing something else.
Every other gun I have situated around the house is 9mm/38+p or greater.
However, the .380 is loaded with Buffalo Bore +p.

Depending on the situation, you may not have the chance to go grab that stashed gun.

.380 +P will do the job, but I'd feel way better with 15+ rounds of HP 9mm or better yet, .40 S&W or .45 ACP

I'm in my recliner watching the Texans, an XDm with 18rds of 9mm is within arms reach.
I'm pretty sure I have the situation covered, come what may.

Well, I see two problems already right there.

    1) You're watching the Texans
    2) You're using a SA XDM.

    (Just kidding, esp about No. 2, as I have a XDM45 and a XD9)

And speaking of No. 2, what about when you're busy doing No. 2?

Watching the Texans because Dallas played Thursday.

I don't keep any guns in the bathroom, one place which I can't control.
But, both rooms immediately outside the bathroom have guns placed .

Odd, I have zero problems with guns stashed for immediate need in the br.

No rust - no muss. Done so for years.

You don't want to hear your front door being crashed open or whatever violence that may possibly come your way while being indisposed and (in a sense) disarmed.

    Ha.

Yeah, only reason is because I use the "guest" bathroom.
It's the only place I am unable to have control over. I don't want others stumbling across my stashed guns.

Well at the risk of being overly redundant yet again..my little NAA five slapper .22 is always in my pocket at home. The maverick 88 loaded with a couple of #4 birshot and followed by double naught buck sits in his protective case in the alcove by the front door..and Mr.Sig is in the bedroom right by where I lays my head at night. When I head off to boys day out with the guys..funerals..Drs. Appointments etc. Mr Sig tags along with and the .22 turns into the wifey gun. I know there is better ways to do it..but I do it my way...to plaugerize Frankie Sinatra a bit. lol. Woops PS..in the Bedroom Closet there is also a tack driving scoped .22 rifle and a winni cowboy thutty thutty both in their cases and in the high ready position..as in giving them a yank. I dont keep nothing up the snout except for pistols.

I have learned that the only things that are important with firearms kept for defense of self and home are that the weapon be there and that it go "bang" every time the trigger is pulled. Some people like pistols, some like shotguns, some like rifles or carbines. If you are comfortable with the weapon and know/believe that it will always work, that's almost all that's needed.

In regard to the Hi-Point carbines, they are very impressive. They work, they are reliable and they feed almost anything. Once upon a time, they were not as reliable; that has changed. They are also incredibly ugly but I admit the bullpup stock is very interesting.

I have the 9 mm hi point carbine I put a ATI stock on it. Is shoots great no failures at all. I do have a 380 I bought off of Gun broker that has feeding problems but I think I was given a 9mm magazine with it.
