What other day would you eat a turkey on?

I know it sucks. Turkey taste like a cross between a dove and a chicken in a weird way.

It's a raptor bird that'll eat meat. A yard buzzard.

What single day of the year would you eat the same funky, wingless, yard buzzurd as the pioneers did?

If they had to stomach it. So can you. It's ONE day of phucking with it. Then it's those sandwiches y'all talk about. For which I don't eat. I'm giving the extra buzzard parts to the dogs.

So SUCK it up and eat the Damn turkey. You phuckers.
If Ben Franklin had gotten his way, the turkey would be our mascot instead of the Bald Eagle. Then we probably wouldn’t have to eat it.

It was the best ever because the comparison is to turkey.

Eat IT. That way, the next seafood tray will taste even better.

Most birds eat meat (chickens too). How does that make the turkey a “yard buzzard”?

Also, turkeys are the 3rd largest flying bird in North America. Not wingless.

Out of everything you listed, only the shrimp appealed to me. Now, bring on the Hallibut and you’re talking my type of seafood.

I do not eat turkey, it makes me puke. Having smoked rib roast, grillroasted red taters with onions, tossed salad and chess pie for dessert. Apple cider is the drink of choice, hard cider of course.

    What's a Chess Pie?

And if you stuck that roast inside the turkey. You might have something going...

Call it a Burkey or a Roaskey.

It’s unlikely that any turkey was eaten at the first thanksgiving.

Or it could be a salmonela infused rib roast. Guaranteed weight loss between the holidays.

Char smaller cuts of roast and get the centers up to 160°. Since its 3 hours on the turkey. Insert the roast after the turkey is about 50-75% cooked. Add any stuffing at that time.

It can be done. I'm not saying I'd do it. It'd mess up a good roast but help a turkey.

Apparently some of y'all don't know how to cook a turkey. Brining, the proper aromatics, and proper temperatures make them very tasty.

A honey brine with simple aromatics like onion and apple and cinnamon stuffed in the cavity. the usual poultry seasonings rubbed with oil on skin and smoked to perfection on an offset smoker. The results are the most tender and juicy white meat and dark meat.

I didn't smoke one this year but may next year with a different rub on it.

I'd love to do that but my wife doesn't like seafood for some unknown reason. Maybe I'll make a small ham for her and a fish fry for the rest of us for Christmas.
