His Survivor books are good to get, too, even though they are pricey nowdays.
Holy crap... I used to have both vol 1 & 2 of Poor Man's James Bond, but lent them out and never got them back. Just checked Amazon... Looks like I'll never be replacing vol 2 :p

2.) This is the food eaten by your food. Whether directly or indirectly you are going to eat it one way or another.
True, but cow livers are freaking huge. They can process far more bad stuff than we can. Plus we don't eat the ones that get sick before slaughtering. I'm not adverse to trying feed grains, tho. I'll check out your tube channel, but do you mind giving the elevator speech of why I should eat sprouted beans instead of just boiling them with a bunch of bacon ends like a normally do?

    Cardio patient in training, LOL!
No doubt; it runs in the family. Despite my rich appetite, my bloodwork always comes back normal at check-up time. My doc just shakes his head when I tell him I'm going to celebrate with a chicken fried steak

Somewhere along the lines certain groups of primarily left leaning people changed position from "a person's right to live" to "a person's right to live well."
See the Soviet Constitution. They had a lot of "rights." Didn't work out that well.

Its about the Lone Star Card program. You know, where working people like us, pay for non working people to gain 100 lbs and get diabetes so we can pay for that too?

I was in Church's Chicken in line to order and a rather obese woman customer was standing in front of the cashier and the cashier was swiping a card that the obese woman customer had given her. The cashier kept telling the obese woman customer that her card was just showing $3.56 and the obese woman customer kept questioning the whole situation and not accepting what the cashier was telling her. Finally, the obese woman customer waddled back into here 1995 Ford Minivan and peeled out visibly upset.

My question is, since I couldn't see what the card was, could this have been a Lone Star Card? I looked around and didn't see a sign saying they took the Lone Star Card. I can't think of any other situation where the cashier could check the balance on a customers card before they order.

If this is the case, I didn't think that fast food was something that could be bought with my tax dollars.

If someone here works fast food maybe they can add some insight here.

I can't think of anything at churches that would be purchasable by the lone star program.

Rule of thumb would be, nothing warm and prepared, booze or tobacco.

Some use TANF cash benefits that are connected to the Lonestar card and can be used just as one would use a debit card.

that might be what she was trying to use..
I looked that program up its called Temporary(cash) Assistance for Needy Families

here is a quote from their page

"Texas TANF Benefits There is a maximum of 60 months of TANF assistance benefits within one's lifetimes. There is oftentimes a differentiation between adults and children. If you are a child and receive TANF benefits, depending on your State, you could receive another 60 months as an adult."

so ....under this "temporary program, you can get free money for 5 years or you can get 5 years of money as a "child" and they then reset it and you can get 5 more years of free money as an adult

    I'm glad its just "temporary".....

My lipids were fine also and I used to say the same thing, yet a severe blockage was discovered via CT scan and shocked me into changing my diet.

London, I grind my own burger, make my own sausage and bacon, dehydrate fruits and vegetables, make my own dog biscuits, buy my beans from the grain elevator, etc. The list is long but not all of those things are to save money, as you say many of those things are processed to death or contain things I don't want to consume (especially sodium and other preservatives). Making a concerted effort to move toward being even more self-sufficient (pending financing approval on the land) though again much of that while saving money isn't the complete goal but to break the dependency on the market and have a better handle on what I consume. The fact that I save money is a bonus for the extra time and labor it takes. Right now I make a pretty healthy salary but it wasn't always so and may not always be so, I like to think it prepares me for that eventuality as well.

The point of my comment was to dispute that anyone has the right to tell anyone else how to live. I don't agree offering assistance to someone entitles you to specify how they use that assistance. In my somewhat simple opinion either offer the assistance or don't, my feelings are keep your damn assistance if by doing so I relinquish my freedom. Where we run into a problem is when the assistance becomes a mode of living rather than a means of recovery which creates a different dynamic with those so inclined.

I also agree with your "feasibility" comment, what's feasible is frequently just a matter of how hard you are willing to work.

Good post. I'm going to have to learn to make my own sausage some day. Kurt Saxon's Survivor Vol. 1 has an interesting article about how when he was a kid during the depression, sausage tasted much better because it was made from more mature pigs. According to him, the stuff made nowdays from essentially infant pigs is bland in comparison. BTW- I heard some snake oil being sold on the radio the other day saying it worked wonders because it was made from nitrites extracted from beef. I thought nitrites were supposed to be bad? I guess someone figured out how to extract the poison out of meat and make it healthier, then sell the poison right back to you at a much higher profit margin.

And people act like FDA approved food is safe! :p

I'm not sure why everyone keeps thinking I'm telling others how to live, though. I think this is the third time I've said people can take my advice or leave it; it doesn't bother me either way.

Try bookfinder.com. Reasonably priced copies show up on ebay occasionally as well. If that doesn't work for you, you can download 1-4 for free as .PDFs via a google search.

The vitamin content goes up drastically (in some cases over 1,000%), the fiber content is increased and the anti-nutrients are rendered inert. It is whole, pure food. All of that for a few ounces of water and a tiny amount of work. I keep my sprouters on a shelf outside of my bathroom. In the morning I do my business, then water the sprouts. In the evening, the same. That's all you need and it takes less than five minutes a day.

Sprouters can be made out of glass mason jars found in any walmart or even used large soda bottles. You get the healthiest (and most expensive if bough elsewhere) possible food for such a tiny amount of effort, it's just plain crazy not to utilize such a resource.

Anyway, if you want to try sprouting feed type foods but are iffy about eating actual feed, you can get the exact same stuff from any decent organic food store. You will pay three times the price and have to shop amongst the very worst of hypocritical born-bourgouise yuppies, liberals, hipsters, and socialists, though.

I listened to the Kurt Saxon show where he was talking about his thermos cereal. I eat cereal maybe once a month; definitely couldn't do that everyday. I'd rather use those grains as bait and have meat for breakfast. ;)

Listening to the callers... I forgot how stupid people were in the early 90's

vmax, you're about to open up a huge can of worms between the Libertarians who will say it's none of our business and the Social Conservatives who will say, Hell ya!, send her to the produce aisle in the grocery store, and the Liberals who will tell you she's a victim of McDonald's predatory advertising.

    You may choose one.
