I need some help picking a .22lr (full:laughing:) semi auto handgun.
I've been wanting one for a while now, for plinking. I've seen guns that I can get kinda on the higher end, but the magazines are cheaper, or I can get a cheaper gun with magazines that cost more.

I usually buy my guns from academy for the most part... They have a ruger mk IV target and a S&W Sw22 From $300-$450~ The ruger has slightly cheaper magazines. The grip on both of these guns was pretty amazing, but I just didn't quite like the sights on them. (Black iron sight) Then on the internet I can find things like a ATI Firefly and a Sig Mosquito S&W M&P 22.

Does anyone have any experience with these guns or some .22lr handgun alternatives, of a similar price? I would also like to have a total of 3-6~ magazines without breaking the bank.

    Thanks,

I’ve got an M&P22 full size. Fun gun, it’s a pretty exact match ergonomically for a full size M&P. Mine came with 2 mags NIB, took a while for extra mags to get out in quantity. Mag capacity is 12 rounds.

It’ll plink, but don’t think it’s a target plinker at 25 yds. Sights could be better, trigger feel is completely different than a striker-fired M&P.

Like a bunch of the replica .22s, it’s manufactured by either Walter or Umarex (owns Walther) in Germany to design and specs provided by the label it’s sold under.

Ruger 22/45 or the Lite version. Fantastic. Get a Mark IV, anything before that and you will hate life disassembling it the first few times.

Ok so...I was told the sr22 was solid. Once I got mine I put 300 the first day. Now its close to 1k. Not a single failer. I'm a believer in these. Accuracy is fair. I will finally be moved and in Texas in September. If you're near Euless or Palmer just pm me you can try mine out.

Got a Buckmark, love it. It feels good in my hand.

Got a S&W 422 and a 422-(something) w a long barrel. Full size with rail. Both are great shooters. Taught all my kids SA shooting with the 422.

You need to hold them all and see what feels good.

Mosquito has a history of Mag issues and was too small for my taste. Did feel right. Same on a couple small ones.

Have wanted a Beretta NEOS. Just keep talking myself out if it.
