I likes it but don't eat much. Maybe a Sonic shake 1X a month and if I have time, a place I visit often gives away free ice cream treats. Of course if I eat Dickies BBQ or Jason's Deli, I will grab a small cone.
Every now and then we will ride to Cold Stone Creamery and O will get coffee flavored ice cream.

I'm a fan. Blue Bell has the Southern Blackberry cobbler out now. I'm pidgin holing some of that away for the fall.

My normal go to is Moolinium Crunch. But black walnut or Dutch chocolate are also regular players.

I'm an ADDICT of my own homemade peach ice cream & any sort of Sicilian gelato.
(When I was stationed in B'more, I lived near Little Italy & would have "moved into" the Italian dessert & expresso place if I could have.= 30+_ flavors of "in house made" gelato.)

Note: the "Tuscan dessert shop" had a HUGE ice cream confection that was called a HOG TROUGH with TEN scoops & my then 16YO nephew (Kevin, who is at 26YO >6'2" & 150#) ate TWO of them one afternoon & then finished my double gelato with cherry topping.
When he finished my dish, the owner brought him a THICK slice of Italian Cream Cake "to try" & an expresso, FREE. = Kevin FINISHED both & about 2 hours later asked me where we were having dinner that evening.
    (I laughed.)

Do you use raw eggs in your homemade peach? I do.

And there you have the recipe that can't be beat.

    oldag,

The recipe that I use is my beloved grandfather's version & it may be much older than that.
(My home county in NETX raises more peaches than the entire "Peach State" of GA, btw.)

Fyi, CAMP County has little to make $$$$$$ on except large poultry houses & peach orchards.

    Homemade peach.

Back before air conditioning, and when you could buy a bushel of Texas peaches for $1, we had it every summer night.

Swatted mosquitoes while cranking the ice cream maker handle.

Only thing we kids fought over was who got to lick the beaters this time.

    karlac,

Fyi, we finally got a AC & a TV in 1960.
Before that, it was AM radios & "swamp coolers".
    (Do you remember "swamp coolers"??)

Yep, they worked real good in West Texas, not all that good in the Gulf Coast humidity.
Little thing called "heat of evaporation" ...

They still make them - Champion cooler in Denison. I delivered and installed them while working at a furniture store around 1980 or so.

    Homemade Peach Ice Cream
    5 Qts recipe
    6 cups milk
    4 eggs
2 (@14oz ea) cans Eagle brand <eta can size
    1/4 cup sugar
    6 tblsp (2 oz) vanilla
    fruit of choice;
    we use 6 peaches
puree 4 peaches in the blender
& chop the others into chunks of a size that will allow you to get a bite of real peach occasionally. Note that this recipe predates the danger of salmonella in raw eggs. It is not cooked; i.e., the eggs go in here raw.

But as long as you have insulin, you can eat what you want, within reason, no?
Yes and No..... You have slow acting insulin and fast acting insulin. I take both and oral meds. Depending on what you eat and the number of carbs and fiber in your food. fiber cancels out some of the carbs. I can have about 60 grams of carbs per meal. If I want a dessert I could eat it and put on some walking shoes which will lower my blood glucose. your A1C is an average of your blood glucose. Its possible I could eat something that drives my blood sugar up above 250 and then gets readings under 100 for the other times of the day. I measure before each meal and at bedtime. I have a sliding scale for the fast acting insulin depending on what my meter reads on the blood Glucose. If I don't eat anything I don't take the fast acting
