The "libertarian party" is just as much a joke as the republican and democratic parties.

Party affiliations mean about as much as labeling a tool "tactical". It's nothing more than an advertising gimmick.

Few libertarians actually believe in libertarian values. Most just follow the idea for a couple of things they want but still believe in gov control in areas they have personal disagreements with.

Oh kiss my ass. Like the libertarian party is worth a shit

Aren't we touchy. Who is with the Libertarian Party? Not me. Doesn't change the fact that Republocrats & demopublicans are a con game fooling the gullible into thinking they have a choice. It's progressivism either way.

I don't believe the lie that the dems and republicans are the same either. GOP needs to be reformed not replaced...if we can't reform it then Im for replacing it because it isnt working anymore.

That being said...its a shit ton better than the socialist dems.

Yup, they are even tricking people in to turning on the organizations that are helping to protect their rights.

Some people are even buying in to all the anti NRA propaganda they have been spewing.

^^^^^^Why I am skeptical and somewhat suspicious when someone comes in touting the NRA is a threat to our Liberty.

No the NRA isn't perfect....but better than it was in the old days pre 1977.....Anyone remember the Cincinnati Revolt ?
I only joined the NRA about 7 years ago. I had this preconceived notion that the NRA was just a bunch of elitist curmudgeons and Fuds. Funny thing was I hadn't actually paid any attention to them for most of my adult life. When I actually took an interest in them and learned about the Revolt in Cincinnati I realized that they really are a grassroots (probably the only one) lobby. If the NRA needs a change of direction, it's members can really effect it. It probably helps a lot that crazy Uncle Ted is on the board to help shake up the curmudgeons

Oh sure... Dems and Repubs are different in that they latch onto opposing sides of social issues that get people really emotional, but they aren't that different. The Dems have a strong socialist base to their party, but most of them are part of the corporatocracy; just like most Repubs. Either way they are all big government statists. It doesn't matter which social hot button issue you vote for, everyone looses. I was hopeful that the tea party candidates would reform the GOP, but they've barely made a scratch. Some have seem to have "gone native" after being in DC for a few years, too.

I would love it if our two party system was the Tea Party vs. Libertarians.

Dayum! Here I was, typing away on paragraph three, and looked up to see that you had just said the same thing, in one sentence. Thanks! ;)

More specifically, the enemy of liberty is government dependance.
Agreed. The 2 party system is being abused by the parties and need to be replaced/reformed. It's hard to take other parties serious because they have very little power. Arguing a 3rd party's validity is hard even if you are a supporter.
While time goes on the democrats go more left, the republicans mudsling and nominate Romney? WTF? Both parties need to be reformed to meet the needs of this countries people instead of furthering crony capitalism, creating a larger public sector, extending welfare for able bodied citizens, ignoring the border insecurity issues and letting money and guns go back to Mexico. The best things for America helps Americans. Wealth distribution is stupid, huge government control is inefficient at best and nonfunctional too much of the time. Both parties keep perpetuating these ideas.
The NRA fights for gun rights. They might fight other causes for the Republican Party but I don't care. They've fought a good fight and I can still own guns and the democrats want me, at a minimum, to pay more taxes, fees, or jump through more hoops to practice my 2nd amendment right. The NRA is protecting a constitutional amendment and that sounds awesome to me.

If the whole "republicans and democrats are just sides of the same coin" argument was the rallying cry for political engagement that would be one thing. I find it is far more often the cry of the apathetic and disengaged. If that isn't true of YOU (dear TGT reader) then dont be offended.

Where did the Ron Paul Revolution momentum go? Where is that energy and passion now?

I am a huge gun rights advocate. Personally I dislike the NRA. I think it had a good beginning and a good cause however I think their methodology over the last 20 years is absolutely awful. Very much for the same reason I discount conservatives who watch fox and liberals who watch msnbc. If you have a stance and a position spending all your time listening to someone simply regurgitate your current beliefs is pointless and a huge waist of time. The NRA panders to its base by making the opposition out to be something it isn't. They aren't evil they are stupid and they are not coming for us. They are simply not exposed and therefore nieve to certain things just as gun advocates are nieve to certain problems and concerns on the other side. I would love to see what would happen if the NRA stopped spending tens of millions pushing their weight around Washington and fully backed youth programs Boy Scouts Girl Scouts school marksmanship programs and so on. Stopping scatting middle age men that other Mir aged men are coming for your guns and stop Insiting the foolishness that helps back all the fears and concerns of the left. If we did that we make actually get some where and society wouldn't view every fire arm and every knife as a WMD and instead view them as the tools they are that deserve respect and training but have a place
