The idea behind having standing dates is the people can plan there days off months, or even a year in advance.

Yep!! Completely missed that it was a vote for a STANDING date!!! Just went ahead and voted without reading.

Either way, I'll stand by it. The earlier the better and my schedule is flexible so I can make it work.

I don't think the term is that uncommon. A standing date, just like a standing offer, is recurring or renews automatically.

Unlike ALL previous Hicksville planning/date selection threads, you'll notice this one addresses "Fall" only. There is no mention of a particular year.

No slight of hand, no play on words intended on my part.
