I'm thinking of backing off a little.
At 20× I see every little movement.

I have a 10x scope on my Savage 12LRP and see steel and paper targets perfectly at 600 yards. I used to think I needed the hubble telescope on my rifle but now have gone the other way. My highest power scope is a 3-15. Only if I was going to get serious in 1000 yard competitions would I consider a higher power.

I'd be embarrassed to show my LTC target (but I did pass). Without glasses it is a fair S.D. shoot, for an old guy, bifocals don't help anyway (P.S. it was 102F).

I have been going up in magnification. Eyes are not what they used to be. I just have to remind myself that when my crosshairs are wobbling over a third of the target, that that is still less than a half inch on a 1inch bullseye. Seems like a lot, but not in perspective.

I'll show my LTC target from two years ago:

In my lame excuse, I hadn't been shooting at all for 8+ years at that time, and I used a Kel-Tec P11.

Not proud of it, but pass is pass, and I've gotten a lot of practice since and got back to my old skills, and better.

Now the joke is this: I went and taught my wife how to shoot, and here is HER LTC target:

DAMN if I hadn't be the one to teach her in first place, I'd be salty a.f. But I've gotten a lot better since then also, LOL.

Pretty sure I don't have mine either unfortuntately.. I qualified with a Ruger LCP and it was, in my opinion, awful shooting. It was better than most of the other 50 people I qualified with, but by TGT standards mediocre to poor.
