    "LIberals" You misspelled Fascists.

Nothing wrong with Classical Liberals, what I don't want more of are the leftist fascists everyone mistakenly calls Liberals. Jefferson, Madison, etc... those guys were Liberal/Libertarian. In fact, they were about as radical as it gets back then (and now) believing that individual liberties and freedoms are a birthright and not bestowed by the grace of Big Government (king). Socialism (Communism) promises equal outcome for all with no risk to the individual. That is about as uber-conservative as it gets. Start denying opposition thought and speech either by ridicule, force, or other means, and , well, you know where this is going...

I wanted change and I came to Texas. The only things I would like changed is what most all conservatives have wanted changed. I love Texas, I love the weather where I am and I love the attitudes of most Texans.

True. I'm still quite young so the fascists is predominantly what I have seen as "Liberal" growing up.

They've been coming here for decades. Austin has been way liberal for even longer. Go down along the border and you'll find more blue counties.

We were taught in school that when Texas was admitted to the union, there was a provision that it could later split into 5 separate states if it desired. Perhaps we can split into 4 red states and 1 blue one if necessary. Judging by the voting precinct maps I've seen, that map wouldn't be that out of the ordinary.
What sort of actions would need to be taken in order for this to take affect?

Subscribed. There is a large difference between the "cities" you mentioned and the good folks in the smaller towns.
I work in the Film Industry so I will be mainly tied to Austin. Which I hear is the most Liberal of them all in Texas. Has their fight been big at all against Texans rights?

Dude. Did you not go outside today? It was 111 on the east side of town this afternoon.
Well no, I'm not stupid. What I meant is I came from an area where it rained quite frequently. Although I have never been one to garage my bike at the face of adversity, I prefer not having to ride in the rain as often. I can ride most the year round here.

I first moved to Austin in 1975 from the north. I loved it here. Austin had the "feel" of a city smaller than its growing population. You could actually talk to your neighbor, and even say good morning to a stranger you passed on the street. Always had a liberal bent because of the influence of UT, but nothing too serious because even they were good common sense people, for a while. I managed to survive in the area by moving to areas just north of Austin until '02 when I moved out of state for a dozen years. After I retired, I moved back to be near my kids and grandkids. If it wasn't for them I would say I wish I had not. With its severe liberal anti-traditional views, Austingrad has become an example of a waste of a perfectly good city.

Could you list some examples on how they ruined the area? Spewing their agenda, no gun zones, etc?

I've been around Austin for about 50 years. Back in the 70's, Austin still had a rural/agrarian feel to it. There were still quite a few feed stores, saddle/boot shops, (Charley Dunn) boarding stables, farm equipment dealers, a lot of people still wore western wear, boots, jeans, hats, things you would associate with a smaller rural town today. I could go on any side of town and run into someone I knew.

Then came the 80's. The first real area housing boom brought in the first large batches of yankees and californians. Up until this point, the city counsel/local government had been made up of local business people that just wanted to serve the city, do one term and then let someone else have it. They understood business.

The early 80's brought us the first hard leftists in city/county government. Eventually they completely took over everything. It's been like a cancer and it has only become worse exponentially as time went on.

I don't even go into Austin anymore if I can help it. All the things I remember have been replaced with skinny jeans and safe spaces. I can't stand what it has become, but I remember how fantastic it once was.

My grandparents moved to Austin from Ellis County in the 1920's, so I know a little bit about it. I'll stay just across the DMZ from commie land these days.

To cite a few. Now I know these things are happening in other large cities across the country, but because it infected the city that I once thought was the greatest place on earth to live, I guess I take it personally.:(

Dave summed it up pretty well, but I'll add my perspective. I am a relative newcommer since I have only lived here for 30 years. When I moved here Austin was the smallest city I had ever lived in. It wasn't crowded. Traffic was easy. People were friendly. If you let another car merge in front of you the driver would almost always give a wave in thank you. I liked that.

Austin, and really any large city, used to be that way but no more. The traffic is horrible here, some of the worst wait times in the nation. We are always near the top of the list for poor air quality also. Drivers are typically very agressive now and good luck getting anybody to let you merge. And when you let someone else merge, rarely do you get a thank you wave in return. Austin traffic now reminds me of driving on the 5 in LA; although, it is probably also way worse now than I remember it.

I grew up in scouts (cub, boy & explorer) then enlisted in the Army, the point being that I learned at an early age that people looked out for each other. I still look out for my neighbors and hope they do the same for me, but I have seen that fall off also. Little sense of community any more.

Just a few random thought to add to what Dave said; although, my comments probably true for any large city in the US as well.

You may not know it, but based on city limits (not metro) population, Texas has 4 of the 10 largest cities in the US with Austin being #10.

Dear lord... I wish I didn't read those articles. Sadly we have very similar things in Canada. In one university, there's a masculinity confession booth. Since being masculine is considered a "sin" by liberals, they have a booth were you confess your events were you were "masculine". Man, this if difficult. Deciding on a City/State to move to that has good gun laws, good work for the film industry but still has a good amount of conservatives. Liberals seem to infest all the major cities...
