I'm anxiously waiting for a Microtech Archangel MCP 9mm (weighs 7.1 ounces empty)
Supposed to be on the market this month ... or within a couple months anyway.

Until then, my "little guns" are Diamondback DB380, Seecamp .32, AMT 380 Backup SA, and KelTec P11 (which really is the same size as my Glock 27, but a thinner feel to the grip) because I sold all my derringers etc. (And no, Diamondback people never worked at KelTec, Diamondbacks are more "Glock-ish" than they are "KelTec-ish")

Good lord that Archangel must have a helluva bite to it... 9mm and that tiny... It looks a good amount like the Ruger LCP... might just be me... I like that AMT one... I had never seen that one and it looks like they stole a lot of the design from the old 1908 Vest Colt pistols that were 32 ACP... I might have to get me one of those... how much did it run you?

Can't even remember, I bought that AMT 380 Backup SA before they came out with the DAO one in the late 1980s or early 1990s.

The AMT Backup 380 in Single Action (grip and "thumb" safety) is the same gun as an OMC backup 380 (Current prices on Gunbroker and some other sites) average about $250, but they range from $170 to $650 (that guy must be proud of his lol) Neither the AMT nor OMC Backups are made any more. AMT released a DAO one, then quit making them.

I imagine that MicroTech MCP will jave a bit of jolt to it, but that's really a BUG, or really really deep concealment weapon IMHO. It's lighter weight than any 380 and half the weight of a Seecamp 32. So, I'm going to load a mag full of +P+ in it and allow my 2 range buddies to try it first <evil grin> (just kidding)

The AMT backup 380 is almost the exact same size as my DB380 (which is as yet unfired by me, but I hear the design is milder on recoil than any other small lightweight thin 380).

If you do get an AMT, it eats Remington JHP (almost shaped like a FMJ with a hole in the nose) ok, but a little finnicky with sharper-edge-nosed JHP ammo, even after feed ramp polishing

    Edited to update:

Reports are saying the Diamondback DB380 works best with +P or Buffalo Bore type ammo, whereas most .380 manufacturers discourage the use of higher pressure ammos.

I apperciate all the reponses. I carry a 1911 comander IWB daily, and need a ture pocket gun for days with slacks and tucked in shirt. the PM9 is a great gun but bigger than what I am looking for. I am trying to find out of the LCP, P238, and taurus 738; which one is best qaulity. They are all the same size and im not worried about price.

Price being no object, I'd consider the DAO Rohrbaugh, a .380 acp sized pistol and a full 9mm, that are billed as smallest and lightest @ Rohrbaugh Firearms although they'd really need to move to Texas before I'd buy one.

Perhaps what you also need is a different carry option. I carry an Officer sized 1911 in a tuckable IWB with dress slacks and shirt and you can't hardly tell I'm carrying. Just a thought.

I have to agree here. I like/carry the 3" STI Escort in a Galco Skyops IWB. It's tuckable and the mini .45 just disappears. One does have to buy looser cut shirts.

STI SkinnerGram #119, announced a smaller Escort version(read, on the abbreviated grip length LS size frame). This, i think, will be a Detonics Combatmaster grip length, (for your reference) but with a 3" barrel. The trigger guard will be an undercut that allows all but the biggest hand to get a 3 finger grip purchase. 5 round mag and one in the pipe. Gotta love a .45acp the size of a Walther PP. BIG BOOM/small package.

I'm waiting impatiently for the Jan release for sale. It'll make a dandy BUG or a gun to carry when full size won't hide. GM length mag(s) for reloads will be a plus. STI is a superior quality forearms manufacturer.

Rohrbaugh is bigger and heavier than a Microtech Archangel MCP 9mm (which is lighter even than any .380 currently made) if you can wait a month or so.
Also, if you do get a Rohrbaugh, buy LOTS of extra recoil springs.

Gotta say I love my Mustang and swear by it and can't wait to get a number... I was talking it over with one of buddies at McBride's the other day and he suspects that as P238's become more prevalent that the price of the Mustang will decrease a little... I'm not looking to sell mine (ever!) so I don't see any downside to that...

    Here's my

I've gotten to shoot one and it feels great in the hand and was very accurate. Much more comfortable than my LCP, also easier to control. HOWEVER, it had lots of problems cycling the first 50 rounds. Many failure to ejects. We cleaned and lubed it and it didn't seam to help. After some research we tried some +P rounds in it and it worked flawlessly.

Diamondback was contacted and they paid for overnight shipping there and back. The gun should be back today and I'll know more about how it performs later this week as we should be taking it to the range again on Wednesday.

I've done a lot of searching and this problem has happened to at least one other owner that I'm aware of. Others have been able to fire everything right out of the box with no issues. Honestly, I hope it's not too common because I really do like this little gun and would like to start carrying it vs my LCP as my backup.

My Taurus that I had (PT111) was a huge piece of shit... biggest mistake I've ever made and the best feeling in the world when I sold it...

Sig licensed the Mustang design from Colt in coming up w/the P238, which is what you're talking about. It's so close that the mags even interchange! I should know - I own 2 Mustangs AND 2 Sigs....;)

I love it to death... It was my dad's backup when he had his Commander as his primary... When he gave it to me for Christmas last year he had never fired it... I've put tons of rounds through it missed a perfect score on my CHL with it by one darn point and have several carry options with it... shoulder rig... back pocket... small of back... and 1 o'clock...
