Just curious as to what state he's leaving Texas for? I travel around this country a lot, and wonder which one is better than the Lone Star State as it's not evident when I visit...

Well said! Born and raised in Chicago, I left and lived in many states in the central US. This is the best that I've found!

I'm from Pennsylvania, there are definitely some good and bad things about Texas esp compared to PA. As a whole, I couldn't be happier moving myself and my wife & kids here. The LTC is much harder to obtain here than I expected but when you have it, you don't have to do a background check when purchasing a firearm. That's a trade off I am completely OK with! It's been a great state to me so far and have been wanting to move here for about 10 years. Couldn't be happier that I've officially moved here and have no intentions of leaving!

    Texas, land of Tex-Mex
We are escaping CA and will be in TX next Wednesday. My family couldn't be more excited to be moving to a state that believes in it's citizens rights and freedom. God bless Texas!

Ok Californian, word to the wise-take the heat warnings seriously. It gets lethally hot here, so you have to act accordingly.

Also switch your vehicle plates quickly. For some reason jackalopes are attracted to California plates. Next thing you know, you're walking out to your car and BAM! a jackalope will head butt you. I mean do you really want this coming right at you?

I moved from San Antonio to Georgia two weeks ago...and there's not a damned thing that I DON'T miss about Texas...this place is nice, and it's America (and it sure as hell ain't Maryland...)...but it's just not the same.

So many states passing good and even great gun laws. Making life easy for the law abiding folk. But not here in Texas.
The way politics operates is retarded everywhere. Where you are looking at that you think is better than Texas and why? Not being combative; I'm genuinely curious.

    Zincwarrior,
Thanks for the heads up about the heat and jackalopes We have been paying attention to the weather and are mentally prepared...we left 100deg heat behind. We plan on switching our plates and drivers license within 24hrs after arriving.

So, if I want to get 32, er, 33 responses to a thread in about 1/2 day- all I have to do is troll about our state? We're being too easy folks.

The saying the grass isn't always greener applies here. I just moved here a few years ago and had the choice to move to several different states. None could come close to Texas for things that were important to me.

Of course not; is it for you? Personally I won't be satisfied until 46.02 is repealed entirely.

That doesn't mean Texas isn't a great place to live in many other aspects. For instance this is pretty important:

You know what I meant. We get better and better laws every year, and our 2nd Amendment rights are constantly expanding. I was asking if that progress was not enough for him since he so incorrectly stated that Texas is doing nothing to expand our rights.

I see constitutional carry as an inevitability.

I've come to really appreciate Texas way more than when I imported from OK ... I don't know where its better, Nevada? Dryer air and close to Vegas? Awwww, come on, all Texas needs is Casinos! (head down)

I'm not saying Texas is perfect. (Only heaven is the perfect place to live.) But there is no other place than Texas that I would really consider living unless some issue in life forced me to. In fact, I guess I'm so picky, there are even places in Texas itself I don't want to live. I'm not attacking any other states...I've been to many...nice folks...beautiful places. But Texas is.....well....it's Texas. :)

Did he leave yet? It's Friday after all, no time like the present to start celebrating.

I say we start a Go Fund Me page for bus tickets. If he's got his own ride, Ill help throw his $hit in the back of the truck. If he wasn't complaining about Texas at 1:10 in the morning. He could have already been in Nevada by now. Stopped on the way and pawned the guns for surf board wax and birkenstock sandles.
