    I worked for a woman who graduated from West Point and I asked her one day about the training she received. "Oh, West Point is just like a regular college with some marching and physical training thrown in." She was hired because she had West Point on her resume and the company was absolutely sure she would be the dynamic leader that they needed. The average kid with a month's worth of experience working at McDonalds has the same leadership skills as my old boss. She was pretty good at groveling to the higher ups, if you consider that a job skill.

    About 15 years ago, a veteran HPD Sergeant was killed by an illegal felon who was cuffed in his back seat. Story was that he had done a pat-down, but missed the gun. Officer was dead but felon was still trapped in unit and was soon in proper custody.
    And if memory serves, the shooter was an illegal his employer had brought back to the U.S. after he was deported.
